Does anyone else find photography addictive? In the last couple of months there has barely been a day gone by when I haven't wanted to take photographs, I have other hobbies but nothing has me hooked like this one.Even if I'm not taking photos myself, I love looking at other peoples photography.

Yep..i really annoy my mates by commenting on how i wish i had my camera with me whenever we go anywhere socially, and im always thinking of places i can take the camera! hmm...

Yeah it's so addictive...and annoyingly expensive lol.

Oh yes - upgradeitus comes as a standard side-effect of the addiction I think!

Absolutely, I feel just the same!! Addictive is the only word for it.

When I got my first dslr, at the end of 2006, if you'd told me then how much I'd spend, what kit I'd have, where I'd go, the courses I'd go on, the time I'd spend, the enjoyment I'd get ... I simply would not have believed you!

If you smoke you can get patches, alcoholics have AA us poor folks just have to go with it :gag::bonk::runaway::help:

Does anyone else find Talk Photography addictive?

Oh YES ... :suspect: ... and have done for the last 2 & 1/2 years ... ... once it bites you just can't get enough ... :D

Soz ... ... just couldn't resist ... ;)

:p

Wow i'm not the only one too :D since i got my DSLR at christmas, it's barely left my side, when it has i've found myself cussing because i've not got it and can see a perfect opportunity! i've stopped reading all my pointless girly magazines too and started staring at hours through a photography magazine :D

hehe what we all like :D

Maybe. :suspect:

Sitting in a traffic Jam today, I look left and theirs a second hand camera shop with lenses in the window...and a parking space bay ... So, running early work wise, I pull in...

I'm now the proud owner of a Nikkor AF 28mm F2.8 D ...for 80 squids.

:woot:

Nah, your right not addictive at all...

I now plan to work so quickly tomorrow morning, just to find an hour or two to play with it in the afternoon, but this also means I'll charge less, for spending less time on the job... :cuckoo:

So its costing me twice.

You have got it bad Forbiddenbiker!

Venomator - Bite me!
I really hope yours arent venomous if you are talking bites:eek: - my fiance keeps venomous:razz:

yes i am officially addicted and want to start my own group called the PA.......photographers anonymous so we can tell everyone we are sorting our addiction out but really meet up to talk about it..yeh.....woooo......my friends love my enthusiasm and some have even started urban exploring for themselves ......my invisible friend is rather fed up of it as i havnt seen her for a while :-)

very addictive - hence i found this and just spent a fortune on gear

I used to DJ (as a hobby) before photography, i was at the point where i hardly used my decks and had hundreds of pounds worth of records sitting gathering dust. I sold everything to fund my gear and have got seriously obsessed with photography!

Its something that makes me happier than anything ive done before and hope to make a business out of it!

@ forbiddenbiker - Where was this Second hand shop you speak of?

nope, I can give it up any time I want.
Honest :)
no really honestly :|

Oh go on then, one more photo won't hurt, it's not as if I am gonna go and buy a new lens or anything :bang::lol:

I've only taken up photography since Christmas and I'm now totally addicted.

Every spare moment I get is taken up with photography one way or another - either out taking photos, reading photographic magazines (I buy one nearly every day - or so it seems:)), viewing TP or processing pics that I've taken.

I wish I had discovered photography years ago, when I think of all the photo opportunities I've missed out on.............but then I think of all the photo opportunities that I have still to experience :woot:

Keep it coming..!

my love came from my love of cars and cleaning :)

Addiction is the word for sure. Its all I seem to do, either taking photos, talking about it or reading about it or looking at other peoples' work or working in Photoshop making 20 versions of the same photo. From the moment I get up to the moment I sleep. When Im not doing any of those things Im making plans on what I will be doing with my photography in my head. It can truly be classified as an illness:lol:

i have been taking photos for over 30 years now and still get a buzz from it
when you fist start you tend to look at things to shoot, can remember going out and shooting a couple of slide films and rushing home to develope them to see the results.then every now and again go through all them slides and sort them out we do tend to shoot things we no longer want to keep, but was fun at the time

It's gotten to the point that I take pictures of random things in my kitchen using the cabinet lights as light sources.
