weekly Adamcski 52 for 2022 Week 52 (new to photography) 2022 52 complete

I like the candles shot, and the final glass globe shot although I might have been tempted to crop it square to lose the pot top right and whatever is poking down into the image from the top.

Yes I haven't edited it or anything yet, I just took it quickly as I'm not feeling very well and wanted to just get something ready in case I don't get out this weekend.

Some nice reflection shots of Birmingham architecture. Are these buildings in the city centre? Haven't been to Birmingham since.......well, the 70's when I was a student in Wolverhampton.
Yes they are, right by the library.

They will be useful for my photography course next week as we are looking at architecture / buildings / urban shots

In typical fashion we have had a fair amount of clear, sunny weather the last few days so most of the DAMP has dried up.

I did manage to find a puddle in a ditch down a country lane in Earlswood direction:

I will however go with my slightly edited first choice below as I believe it demonstrates DAMP and the technique REFLECTIONS. It is also one of the first pictures I have taken with the photography ball / sphere (I don't even know what they are called). Just a shame a drop of water fell on the ball right at that moment...typical

Nice reflections in your sphere of the damp street, it works well.

Maybe total B&W would work.

I prefer the colour version as well.

That shot really fits the reflections technique well and hits damp without a shoehorn, although it's verging on the wet!

BTW, you're probably already aware that those balls shouldn't be left anywhere that full sunlight can fall on them. It won't damage the ball but can (and has) caused fires!

Mine gets packed away it it's little sleeve / pouch and put back in the box it came in.

I had to throw water down on the slabs to create the Damp / Wet. Suns been out since I took those and it's not so damp around here now (typical).

Great shot Adam, I do like the b&w version.

Nice shot for the theme and tech. I too think the colour version has something "extra"

I like these. Probably the colour version nicks it, but very close between the two.

I'm going with the b&w as my favourite out of the lens ball images. Without the distraction of the colour it's a more aesthetically pleasing image, but everyone will have their own opinion.

I think I may have stumbled onto a winner for me this week on the way to donate blood earlier.

I love the colours, the three bollards and the almost holographic sign above which appears to be old signs that have left an outline.

Works well .... the only comment I would make is regarding the shadow & refection from the street sign ... it does slightly spoil the symmetry

It was taken around 11:20 am so the sun on that day was up and was casting reflections (I got some nice puddle ones on the way in also). I did try the shot from different angles and crossed the street / stood in the road - but it's on a busy city centre road so time was not on my side and my donation was booked for 11:40 :)

If only I hadn't used my TECH (reflections card) on the ball picture above lol

I like the image a lot Adam. Quite a bit going on with it. If you're using Lightroom the auto-transform function might help it a bit.

Always love to see a good coffeeshop image!

Haven't had the best of weeks and lost my mojo somewhat, so just put that week behind me. It is my take on technology I guess and now I will refocus on the next weeks task - discarded. I will keep my eye out for something interesting.

Tech picture looks like an image of an audience in a high tech cinema taken from very high up.

It's my son's gaming monitor, Xbox series X, light up keyboard and light up mouse. I won't discuss the LEDs he has around the room

(Shh, but my music/computer room is quite similar and I am in my late sixties)

Technology - that's a cool take on the theme Adam. I like how the keyboard mirrors the screen. I might have cleaned up some of the small points of light just so there's less distraction
Discarded - Great choice, definitely the best of the three in my opinion

That's very interesting Adam, is it a functional door or just painted on?

It appears to be a door carved from the tree but it's screwed into the tree also, so you cannot open it.

I think whoever did it cut a section of the tree out, created the door and then mounted it back onto said tree...I thought you may be able to open it due to the gap at the bottom and perhaps at one point people could...that's not the case now though....

Looking at the form of the tree around the wooden insert I would think that the tree grew naturally in that shape rather than this had been cut in, or at least it had been encouraged to grow like that. Though I don't know what would have caused it (perhaps another close by tree leaning against it, that has now gone?)
But is it rather fun isn't it.
Was there more of the wooden trail that could have been captured, perhaps in landscape, to make more of a leading line?
