I've got a customer that has a Venture supplied acrylic panel approx 2'6" x 2'6" which has 9 acrylic blocks 5"x5" aranged in a 3 row x 3 column array on/in it. Each of the blocks is a 2-part unit that traps a photographic print between the two with a metal clip/band that holds the two parts together. You slide the front acrylic layer off of the clip to access the print.

Anyway, the customer wants some of my prints to update the Venture ones but would rather I supply a number of the acrylic blocks + prints so that the originals can easily be swapped in and out as they like, rather than dismantling the original blocks and risking damage to the prints. So, anyone any idea where these things could have come from?

I'm not sure my description is really that good, but hopefully someone will understand

Thanks

Ask your customer where he got them?

LOL... from Venture :suspect:

But who supplied Venture, that's what I'm after ;)

Hi Andrew,

I am pretty sure I read somewhere that Venture products were made from their own central outlet, where ever that is? I very much doubt Venture will help you out, but could be worth an ask, as so many are closing, may appreciate the trade business.

It might be worth approaching an acrylic supplier who could make them bespoke for you, can't say that I have come across a clip type. I know Loxley do some but I they are bonded to the back of a block.

Good luck in your hunt

Try Cheshire Acrylics. They may have what you are after. LINK

Similar but not the same.

I have said Venture frame. The clip is horizontal and centred, as the magnet is in the centre of the 5"x5" opening.

Looked at Lumanati - same comments apply.

Don't ask - was a weak moment many years ago.

Having said that they are good, very good.

The blocks are slightly less than 5"x5". The orifice is 5"x5". The blocks are easier measured in metric. They are 12.25cm x 12.25cm and 3cm thick overall (1cm behind photo and 2cm infront). There is a 1.5" meatl clip holding the two components of the block. There is a grove in the 2cm element for the front end of the clip. When in the orifice the clip is not seen.

Good luck with your hunting.

Let me know if you want more information.

I would be interested if you find a supplier.

Much appreciated Ken, and yes these would appear to be exactly as you describe... the hunt continues
