Well the thought of maple syrup has got my mouth watering....nice take on the theme....and I think maybe I'm glad you didn't get the shot of the pancakes or I might have had to make some..... :)
 
A great idea Jonathan, I'm struggling to see what's going on in the middle shot though, I'm guessing it's part of the process from tree to bottle...
 
John, I didn't really understand it either but it's how they (using traditional methods) use the inherent sugar content in the sap to make the syrup. The sap has to pass through a maze of pipes (which would have been a good shot but you can't see them) and by the time it gets to the other end is syrup.
 
mmm syrup on ice cream .. forget the pancakes ! Well done for getting an image posted.
 
A really interesting interpretation Jonathan. Call me a geek, but I love that little bit of information about how they get the sap from the tree.

Photographically I'm not sure it's quite working for me, but well done for trying it out.
I do keep getting drawn back to that first image of the sap coming from the tree and I wonder if you could make a bit more of that one by playing around with it in curves.
Could be a good excuse to make some more pancakes and do something with just the two shots - the tree and some new pancakes :shrug:
 
If you are trying to get your signature to show, you need a minimum post length - I can't remember how long but I think it's in the forum FAQ somewhere. Also a sig will only show up once per page even if you make several posts.
