Hi all, anybody got an Acer liquid E3?

I've just got one and I have never ever known a phone to have such a diabolical battery life. I've charged it twice today and its already down to 32%!!
I got power save on, I frequently close running apps, auto brightness, plain black wallpaper, no Bluetooth or WiFi or GPS. Email manual receive, all location services off, nothing to auto sync (as far as I know).

You name it, I've done it to save power!
And I still have to charge it twice a day!!

Driving me NUTS.
Can anyone relate to this or offer any advice please?

What's your phone signal like in that area? If my phone can't connect then battery life drops by about 70%. Also turn on wifi - that has been reported to use less electricity than 3G if you have an access point nearby.

Thanks for the reply.
Get a very good, solid signal here, voice and 3G is very good. I'll keep the WiFi on and see if that helps. I've been keeping it off to see if that helps....

Is there a software update available , I've had phones that have improved battery life after an update

Have you looked on the phone forums to see if it's a common problem, you might have a faulty phone

Try installing the better battery app and see if you have apps running in the background killing the battery.

Perhaps the phone and/or the battery is a duff one. Just because it's brand new it doesn't necessarily mean it's any good.

In my experience if it isn't a poor signal it's a rogue app eating the battery, either not exiting cleanly or just not working with updated versions of Android. If you haven't already check in the battery part of Settings that's where I've been able to identify the culprit

Install gsam battery monitor then do the following -
Turn of wifi and data
Leave phone for an hour or two doing absolutely nothing
After alloted time go back into gsam battery monitor and it will tell you percentage wise what is hogging the battery.
If there are no rogue apps it should be screen and system as the first two or three entries. If it is a rogue app it will rank higher (hopefully)

Surely investigating the viability of the phone / battery is the first line.

Thanks for the great help and replies.

I've downloaded and app called Juice Defender recommended by the Phandroid forum, and it seems to be doing the trick.

Early days yet!
But I'm still on 60% which is a massive improvement....

I'll keep the thread posted on the progress.

Thanks again :-)
