Hiya,

I have just heard that there is a photograph exhibition at the Haworth Art Gallery in Accrington. Apparently there are over 150 images on show.

It started on the 19th June, but I have only just found out about it today :bang:

It is free entry and is from 2pm - 5pm today (runs until tomorrow, Sunday 18th July)

I'm going to mosey on over there today to take a peek.

Found this link if anyone is going to be in the area and interested in popping past http://www.hyndburnbc.gov.uk/site/scripts/documents_info.php?documentID=34&pageNumber=6#pagenavbox

Sorry about the short notice.

Cheers

Dawn :)

I made my way to the exhibition today and it was well worth the visit.

It is a small exhibition (in 3 rooms) and a video display too but there are some amazing photographs, all very well displayed. The only problem I had was with the lighting (but then I am only a short-*****) and I found I had to dodge and dive a bit to see the photos without the reflection of the lights.

There are some very impressive and inspiring images. I had my notebook with me and made lots of notes regards local places to take photos (and some further afield). Also the titles of the images were very inspiring and got the old cogs working conjuring up creative ideas in my mind ;)

The grounds of the gallery are fantastic and just down the road is Oak Hill Park with beautiful gardens. So if there are any locals (or neighbours) who wanted to kill a few hours and pop past it is well worth the visit (especially as it is free). Don't forget to take your camera (that is to take photos in the grounds). There are also some stunning views from the Haworth Art Gallery entrance, looking towards Pendle Hill area.

I am now considering joining the Accrington Camera Club because what they have produced is fantastic and I am sure I could learn a lot from the members.

If you are looking for something to do tomorrow, pop past the gallery I am sure you will enjoy it - I did.

BTW tomorrow is the last day of the exhibition and I think they are open from 2pm - 5pm.

Cheers

Dawn :)

I used to live in Accrignton, walked around Oak hill park many times, nice place.

I remember the art gallery too.
