Accidents and fatalities on our roads collated in an interactive map

Interesting find. Thanks for posting. Looks like my own area isn't too bad compared to some others, but still way too many people losing their lives.

important to note that is 4 years out of date.

there have been several cyclist fatalities recently locally that arent showing for example.

Indeed
1999-2010

I assume there are some regulations about information release on these stats maybe?

prob not... the date of the website id Dec 2011

Equally disturbing is the 10 times as many who had "serious injuries". I wonder what counts as a serious injury?

Serious Injury is an injury for which someone is kept in hospital as an “in-patient”.
Or (whether kept in or not).... fractures, concussion, internal injuries, crushings, burns (excluding friction burns), severe cuts, shock requiring medical treatment.
Injuries which result in death after 30 or more days after they occur are also classed as serious (and yes, that bit does sound daft!).

Motorcycles offer little safety over a modern car. A tragic reality but I am sure every biker knows the risks and accepts them, hence why they ride.
Yes you're spot on there :)
I do know the risks but ride anyway, it means too much to give it up
I am careful tho

Just checked my local area, and where the most common speed cameras are.
Nice to see they put them were the accidents occur.
