I have just driven to a nice location and for the first time this week there is some beautiful light. I got sat my camera on my tripod (which I've had less than two weeks), tightened the ball head and I felt something inside give way. The ball head seems to have broken and I'm unable to secure it in position!! 😡 Not happy!

Should still be enough light to get some decent shots using the tripod as a support aid rather than longer exposures. Good luck.

I feel your pain. Exactly the same thing happen to me a few years ago. Bought new tripod, set it up, snap!!

b****r.

Sent it back and replaced quickly, PITA, though :(

Cheers.

can you attach the camera directly to the tripod?

Like Rapscallion's already asked : can you remove the ballhead and attach the camera to the basic tripod?
I have visions of you typing into the forum from atop a craggy peak and now waiting in the same spot 24 hours to get the light again ...
More probably you went home. :|

That's why the good lord invented duct tape.

I definitely need to add duct tape into my camera accessories!

I never thought of that :bang: I probably could have (haven't looked properly). I stayed around and managed to somehow bodge the tripod! Thankfully I wasn't on top of a mountain and instead was at a reasonably local beach. I managed to get a few shots worth keeping :)
