Hi all, just a quick intro about me, I am a complete novice regarding photography, and have come to it quite late in life (i am 60 years young), I have a camera of sorts which is quite old, but have been playing around with it for a few days, and am really enjoying myself, so looking forward to learning from (what I hope are friendly folk) the people on here.

Way more important than a fancy camera is enthusiasm and using your eyes to actually see. Taking pictures YOU like is what it's about for most of us, so enjoy it!

Boy that pretty much hit's the nail on the head. Take photo you like that are really good and somewhere along the line your gonna find the person that will tell you what all is wrong with it. I'd bet the best photographer's ever had their critic's!
