Hi

I am the proud new owner of a Nikon D70 and 28-80mm lens that I am having amazing fun taking photographs with. I am a complete novice and have only been taking shots on my first decent camera for a couple of weeks.

I have always been interested in images and graphics and messing around in PSP and have loved looking at photographs for as long as I can remember. I have always thought 'I want to take photographs like that' when I see something incredible.

I love composition and originality and things that make you go 'Ooooooo!'

Well that's a little about me. I have only got so far as to taking photos of nature and the family pet and kids (you could class them both as the same) but am looking forward to getting out and about and photographing more challenging and interesting things.

Please bear with me if I ask you what you might consider dumb questions. My name does indeed infer that I am a 'true' blonde in every sense of the word and I know absolutely nothing of the technical side of photography at this stage.

I can't wait to learn and hopefully make some friends along the way!!!

Hey don't worry about dumb questions, I've been photographing with a DSLR for almost a year now and I'm dumb as ever :D Welcome.
 
Good see you've caught the caught the photography bug :D

I started off with digital having found the learning curve a little easier to handle compared to film. That was 5 years ago and I still love taking pics.

Hi BB Welcome to the forum, don't worry about asking questions, the more questions we ask the more we learn about photography. Thats good you've caught the photo bug, once you've been bitten by the photo bug, theres no going back :lol:. I've been taking photos since 2007 and have had my DSLR camera for a year and a half, I still enjoy taking photos and love photography as much as I did 2 years ago :)

I'm still at the point and shoot and hope for the best stage at the moment, but not really taken anything that I am brave enough to post up here.

It's a shame because I don't forever want to feel like I'm not doing this great camera I have justice!

Would you recommend just reading here or are there any beginners books that I should be checking out? I'm still finding a lot of the terms and things confusing and what I should do to get the effect that I want.

I'm artistic by nature so I hope that in time my composition might be okay it's more the technical side that I fear I am going to struggle with.

Any links to good beginners posts here would be much appreciated or tips and hints or books to read.

I'm glad I found this site, it does seem friendly and I am spending lots of time (probably too much actually) reading and looking at the photographs.

Welcome to the forums BB - don't be shy of putting your photo's up for C&C, it's one of the best ways to learn and people are very helpful here :thumbs:
 
Hiah - I'm pretty new too, both to here and to photography although I'm enjoying this site and learning a lot!
