Yes
And not a clue what to buy.

I could buy a better lens pen, a lens cloth, or something. But not sure if I can fund something more useful instead.

I have a D90, nice lenses, a tripod, 2 good flashguns. Most of my photography will be natural light using flash to fill, or flash generally as a light source indoors.

So if you had about 35 quid to spend on Amazon (give or take a little, I have a gift certificate but sure I can add maybe a fiver, tenner for something awesome) - what would you buy?

A couple of good photography books

What about an external hard drive as a back up for your photo storage ?

Another memory card ?

Not bothered about books, can read it all online :)

Got tons of memory cards... Backup currently to an external and internal hd, could do another external...

Loving the softbox idea! Any idea if that head would attach to a standard tripod, or would I need like the stand linked? I have a 2nd tripod which is sturdy, just not made to take a dslr weight!

Ooh I could get

Or

And

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B005N9G9AS/ref=mp_s_a_40?qid=1325617085&sr=8-40

In budget, which would give me lots more options! (the one you linked is lovely but 25 quid shipping)

ETA: I actually have 58 quid in Amazon gift vouchers, was going to use 22 or something for something else, but think I may get whatever I want for photography instead!

Isn't always the case that you have £X to spend and you could easily spend £X+Y countless times over but X is just not enough on its own.

Isn't that just the way of the world!

I'm now very much leaning toward the beauty dish and softbox, but trying to work out if I would be able to use my tripod(s) or if I need those photo lamp stands...

Amazon have some £40 yungnuo? Flashguns which are perfect for additional flashguns or where you don't want to put an expensive one.

I could be wrong but I think your voucher will only be redeemable from goods directly from Amazon and not the 3rd party sellers listed in the majority of the suggestions.

Also watch your shippings costs from 3rd parties...esp that softbox which is higher than the unit cost.

Nope can be used on any marketplace ones (I just checked as it hadn't crossed my mind!)

Yea I noticed that first soft box was silly shipping, the big one I linked to is free shopping though so pretty good price I think!

Hmm don't think I need more flash guns... *wanders off thinking to herself*

What about a reflector, flash stand and and reflector holder if natural light is your goal.

It will be more than £35 but better spending additional cash on something you are gonna use than wasting it on odd bits n bobs you might never use or use effectively.

comes in around £50

Hmm.. The problem is I at times will need to be doing photos indoors, so I think some flash accessories will be more functional for me - I doubt at some points I'll get enough light indoors for just a reflector to be any use.

Though, I'm wondering if a beauty dish and a box will be different enough to be worth getting both. Searchies again I think!

Thanks, hadn't thought of reflectors!

This is a good thread to see what bargains I can grab for under £50!

well, I thought that having three canon flashes but having dropped my 580 twice with £90 repair bills, I bought a couple of the cheap £40 flashes and they're actually really useful. I now use them to light my background, don't mind where I put them (sometimes in dangerous spots) etc.

Why not do ebay instead and try and pick up another lens or something?

Because my Amazon gift vouchers (ie money I can use without effecting my bank balance!) Don't work very well on Ebay... :)
