Abandoned places

Some crackers there!

Agreed some fantastic shots.

Some interesting shots, and some I didn't really care for. It's subjective, as always. FWIW, Eilean Donan is neither ruined nor abandoned, it's a C20th reconstruction.

Love the power plant

Not bad at all. I tend to mainly explore industrial sites, but I've always wanted to do an abandoned theme park, like the one in that post. A few people have done Camelot in the winter close season, but it's not exactly abandoned (although it's not in a great condition, TBH).

They're all lovely! Would love to find a few places like these!

Its worth noting, though, that the second picture(Eilean Donan Castle. Photo by pboehi) is neither abandoned or a ruin...

You could argue that it's not really a castle either. It was rebuilt before the Second World War, and the distinctive bridge dates from this period. It wasn't part of the original structure which was destroyed in the C18.

I only say this as my uncle is currently helping to look after the place... So was less of a technicality and more of a 'what?' comment.

Some totally gorgeous photographs.

A somewhat variable selection but I absolutely love some of these

Are these all genuine?

Some look like photoshop composites.

There is American Adventure Theme Park - now abandoned and quite popular for visits and also Louden Castle Theme Park in Ayr - very popular on urbex sites. Camelot is now closed permanently and probably explains the poor condition it has been falling into over the last few seasons. I suppose that now makes it abandoned.

I like the Abandoned Scotland site. There is some excellent pictures and some cool footage from their drone camera too. Bora Horza features quite heavily. I follow them on Facebook.

They need to work on their drone videos a bit I think. I've always found they give me motion sickness :)

They seem to have an odd appearance. Almost like they are photographs of pages from a magazine. Perhaps the website that hosts them have caused that.

Oh some of those are just WOW shots.

Ha, I live about 10 minutes away from Camelot, didn't even realise it had shut recently. We went in August, it was rubbish.
