Epsom has 5 old hospitals in various states of disrepair

and a nice little ruin here

that is an old satellite imagem it has since been set fire to and is quite funky

watch the floo in the main house though as it is pretty unsafe

Look for the threads on Hellingly Mental Asylum in the General Photo Sharing section (maybe elsewhere too?) . Plenty of pictures and discussion on visiting it. It's in East Sussex, not a huge distance from you.

There are a couple of websites which list various abandoned buildings as well as hospitals, I don't know if you've already tried these:

http://www.derelictplaces.co.uk

With the above, click on 'forums' and it will list different categories of buildings.

http://www.nobodythere.co.uk

With this one, select the category, then click on the place you wish to see. Click on the main photo and another box will open up with other photographs of that location. This only applies when there's more than one picture of that particular place.

There are flickr groups that visit derelict houses and takes lots of photos. In addition someone told me to do a search on the watch register that your council hold as they will list properties that are at risk.

Currently being demo'd

oh, and there are a few bits on my website ;)

search for URBEX.....28 days later forum

+1 for 28DL

But don't go barging in and asking people for exact locations.. that's the quickest way to get the cold shoulder treatment (if you're lucky) or the boot (if someone's had a bad day). It's just the particular etiquette of that site.

Local archives are a good resource.. in Norfolk we're very fortunate to have the NHER website which makes finding old buildings and their history much easier. There may be something similar for Surrey, although quite a few local authorities restrict access to people that turn-up at their archives and use on-site terminals.

hi im not sure if this is the rite place to post but im lookin for a safe derelclit buildings to take some shoots,im new to all this and ive bin looking on line but dont really get much information on how to go about it all,its a personal project.im looking for anything in the leicestershire area ie old churchs, factorys, schools railways etc. and permission wise please if any1 can help i *** b very grateful

Sadly in the last year two of the biggest asylums (West Park and Cane Hill) have been demolished. First the long overdue (but still unwelcome) demolition of West Park, and then Cane Hill was set on fire by 'arsonists' (owners) and had to be demolished because it was unsafe.

There are plenty of other places, but these were really two amazing places for Urbex. I'd suggest looking around at urbexforums and 28dl (but don't post on 28dl. The most un-friendly community I've ever found)

Hi Phil i know this post was doen 2 years ago but i'm looking for a derelict building in Surrey/south London for a fine art photo shoot nd wondered if you knew of anywhere? best wishes
