and if coming down to find that this Sunday morning wasn't bad enough, then the attitude of the police certainly made up for it! Local police station was closed, yet when we tried to phone them instead, they insisted we needed to report it, in person, together with a full set of documents (which we don't have access to thanks to it being a company car) within 24 hours of it happening - how are you ment to do that then?:bonk:
 
I think I would report it anyway, at any police station that was open and explain its a company car and ask to produce the documents later. I am not anything to do with the police now by the way so dont take my word for it that is the right thing to do.
 
Oh don't worry, we've got it reported since. Even managed to talk the nice Mr Plod around the "must produce all documents" rule though as getting the MOT cert off the lease company looked like it was going to be a right 'mare!

Have dad a knock on a few of the neighbours doors too, and surprise surprise, no one saw anything.

How can people do this sort of damage, and just drive away from it? Wouldn't like it if someone did it to them would they?
 
I am honestly gutted for you as it looks like a well looked after car.

I Have felt exactly the same as you on two occasions once in a supermarket car park when what looked like a fully laden trolley had been rammed into the drivers door and to add insult to injury the scum who did it left a 50% off sticker on the damage.

Another time someone collided with another car of mine parked in the street and drove off, that was extensive damage which needed two replacement doors!!.

New door, rear panel and wheel. Nice, at least it is on the compnay insurance, andyou can say that you havn't been invovled in an accident.
 
I am gutted for you too, I once drove into an old Austin Maxi in 1988 and drove off......but turned around and knocked on a few doors to find out the owner who then put a claim in for a ..........door, wing, and paintwork...........I only took his chrome mirror off........so it just shows being honest doesnt pay.


By the way tis was my only car accident EVER but I would do the same thing again, but not drive off.

the only way i think you can do the documents is a company letter head with reg number all vehicle details and it must state you are the named driver

thats what we have to have to make up a number plate when it is either a lease car or company car

surprised they said you need full documents though?!

My car got keyed last academic year, went to the police and they were brilliant. Took statements from me and my mate, never even asked to see my driving licence.

Its a shame you got that attitude :(
 
a van reversed into my mum's car one night and drove off, we found it around the corner and identified it by the paint on it's bumper.

took the company name, called them and told them what happened and he refused liability. took him to court, he then admitted liability. he got 4 points on his license (i think) for leaving the scene of an accident, and we got a nice payout :D
 
:lol: nice one! As it happens, we had a wander around the local streets too, and strangely enough, we did find a red car with corner damage to its rear bumper - we thought we were going to be lucky, but the damage went quite a long way along the bumper, so, not that one after all......


oh, and wegotitugetit, thats nawty :lol: :lol:
