Just when I had got loading the spiral sorted today to stand dev my Acros 100 from today......

......I discover that my new paterson tank has a crack in it while doing the first inversions! :'( :'( :'(

I have tried drying and taping it with limited success, as I only have sellotape and have mixed some more rodinal to top it up, so hope it will be ok.

A**e!

Not good, especially as you say it's new! Rodinal all oveR the floor isn't goods either!

Hope the dev works out.

You could try some epoxy resin, i use it to hold the magnets to the tank in my jobo. Holds the weight of a full tank of dev and it's waterproof

couple of raps of gaffer right round the tank might work. You can get self amalgamating tape to seal stuff but it'd probably cost more than a new tank just for the tape.

Negs now hanging in bathroom and seem fine.

Another ebay foul up.....and I have already left feedback too :(

I am sure it is repairable, it was just the aggravation factor! :bang:

.....at least it was in the kitchen on the draining board, so not too messy!

"Negs now hanging in bathroom and seem fine."

Good outcome given the earlier challenges, glad the film survived!

Or just bring it over when you pick up your colour negs and I will repair it for you....Ebay eh, sometimes you got to love it, other time well....:annoyed:

A couple of the pics that I am quite pleased with!

If your a bit handy with a soldering iron you may, and its a big may.
May be able to fuse the crack but its a very 50x50 thing to do

If you're trying this, use a cable tie or similar scrap of plastic as a filler, melting into the crack. I've patched up motorcycle fairings that way on occasion.

Well...............

.......just tested the repair and a big thumbs up for Araldite Rapide!

Thanks Steve! :clap::clap::clap:

You can buy placticard at model shops, glue some of that over the crack.

Excellent stuff Araldite Rapide....I thought I was onto a winner as I could open the crack up and get adhesive between the crack rather than just on top of it...

Oh yeah I really like the press guy photo....The other guy with the press tag on his arm gave you a strange look when you pressed it though...mind you it was asking for it..:)
