Quite new to this and not sure if this should be in here or Equipment.
I have a Sony A350 which I am so much fun with that I am looking to upgrade.
I have only bought a 70-300mm lens so have not got in too deep with Sony.
Always fancied a D90.
My question is - should I??:thumbsdown:
Good camera or is there better (for the same money)?

D90 is a very well featured enthusiast camera, it has most of the advanced features, this camera is probably a good starting point for someone serious about photography. My only gripe about it is the disappointing auto WB indoors. This I feel the A350 performs a lot better, oh and the quick live view. If you haven't invested too much in the sony system, well worth having a look and play.

The D90 is my 1st DSLR and i love it, i spent months and months deciding on which i should go for and in this end this won hands down. Just do it you will not be dissapointed.

As for the W/B if your shooting jpegs then just change the W/B from auto to one of the other settings. I nearly always shoot in Raw anyway so my W/B is set to neutral and can be changed to suit once on the computer.

The D90 is a great camera but if you like the Sony system why change. The only reason that I could think of for switching is to get access to the huge number of old Nikon lenses kicking around (a pretty good reason) or because from my experience of handing Sony cameras, the Nikon controls and handling are more intuitive (mind you, I have been using Nikons for 27 years so perhaps I would say that). You shouldn't succumb to brand envy - you see loads of people switch marques on these forums for no particular reason and changing camera brands is unlikely to improve your photography per se, not unless it means that you end up taking more photos!
