Hi
being fairly new to this, 3-4 months I am still full of enthusiam and grand ideas, and always looking at my next bit of kit..... the wife wants me to take some wildlife pics, to which i say i need a longer lens (400mm minimum) and that'll cost me from £500 (sigma) to £1000 (Canon which I'd really like)
so her query is..........(oh by the way i am a sadistic QVC watcher on a sunday morning, particular favourites are DIY Hour and Hi Tech Toys)
"how come QVC sell these bridge cameras for £200 odd pound that can zoom into some guys nose 100 miles away and you can still see the nose hair, yet you need £xxx lens to do anything like that"

so my answers are
a) the quality of a DSLR and a Bridge are like night and day
b) the bridge camera pic is heavily cropped and probably lacks any true clarity.
c) an expensive DSLR zoom will bring the focus right to that point without having to lose quality zooming/cropping in
... i am sure there are more eloquent answers, so hoping that people can provide me more ammunition to shoot with
