A wee dram...

Blimey.... that Macallan is a bit pricy, I'll just have the one bottle.

Mmm, yes I remember the look of delight on your face when you tried the Laphroig. :D

Once you get past the first page, some of the bottles sold for quite reasonable prices and most were near or even below the predicted price range. Shame about the £24.99 carriage charge though, since that certainly jacks up the price of the cheaper ones! 2 bottles of 15yo Glenlivet for £45 was certainly a bargain.

Edit: I see there is also a 1 week timed auction starting tomorrow and ending the 26th

£22 & a bottle of Jameson's and I would be more than happy. Not sure I see the point of dropping a lot of money on a bottle of booze you will never drink unless it's as an investment? Could have a good day at Grays of Westminster with that sort of money that's for sure.

I was in a whisky shop earlier in the year and the assistant asked if I was an investor or if I actually drank it. Mmmm, that'll be drinker.

I'm a bit of both. I have about 5 or 6 discontinued bottles/presentations from Dalmore, Balvenie and a few others. They didn't cost a lot, but in the year or two that I've had them, they've already appreciated in price a little :D. Otherwise I've got maybe 15-20 bottles that are either open or will be open eventually. I couldn't not have open bottles!

Dalmore is made in my home village and my Dad worked there for years. Lovely stuff!

In an effort to at least try and learn to like whisky, I've done a bit of research and have read that this is a pretty decent "beginner" whisky

When I got home I gave it a try, and sweet Jesus it was not nice  tried it neat and with a bit of water, and also tried the "take a deep sniff and look past the alcohol" thing that @Woodsy told me.

I'm sure I'll learn to love it in time, just need to drink it more I think :D

Nah, you'll never learn to love that stuff. You'll barely manage a few before you give up. Not a fan of glenfiddich not a fan at all.
