I'm afraid your wrong, I know the person who did this, and he is a Canon user (30D, 50D) but going to switch to Nikon, and I must say I agree.

Nikon have released firmware for camera issues in the past? Any camera and lens combination has the possibility of front/back focus, you can't make things exactly the same - they're all within a certain tolerance. Look at sigma for goodness sake they're worse than anyone!
The black dots issue on the 5D2 is in such a specific set of lighting conditions, I can't believe it would be a reason to trade in everything for!
No need to get into a Nikon Canon debate, i use both, Canon has made some mistakes recently Nikon have made some good decisions this is pretty damn funny.
