A trip down memory lane....

I was only singing that Shake and Vac song other day lol, got some to freshen the kid's rooms and they were looking at me like I had 3 heads. A lot in that vid is a bit before my time, more an 80's child, but I still recognize a lot of it. It's impossible to see the Charlie says toon without the Prodigy kicking into the brain too :D

There's a series on Irish tv called 'Reeling in the years' - where they dip into the RTE video archives , each episode based on a specific year, very nostalgic, love it

There's only a couple I recall seeing.Strange.I was in Germany for three years, though.

I recognised all bar a couple of that (never saw Tizzwazz or the shake'n'vac ad). 15min went FAST.

I recognised a good few.......though I am sure numerous ones started in the 60's ??? I certainly thought I recalled others from the 70's though none that I actually bothered to watch.

Re: 60's :- Such as Champion the Wonder Horse

PS as for Shake 'n Vac.....I doubt my mum ever used it but we did have one of those Hoover 'hoovers' at some point. I think it was called the Hoover Junior?

Do they still do Shake'n'Vac, if it makes housework that much fun got to be worth it

There were some really mad shows though - Banana Splits, Monkey etc.
Thunderbirds was the 60's.

I really wish the Banana Splits were on iTunes, I’d buy it in a flash!
I do own Captain Scarlet, which I prefer to Thunderbirds.

I must have watched a lot of TV because I recognised all of those, Batman was from the 60s though.

Good grief, I'm 8 again, awesome.

I did notice a slight discrepancy in the World of Sport title, Alexander Wurz rolled his Benetton in the Canadian Grand Prix, 7th June, 1998. ;)

If I could've picked an era to grow up in, it would've been this one, we didn't have it bad, did we?

:)

Don’t know if it’s called that but my wife uses something similar, usually where the big smelly dog lay about.

Yup

Agreed, although I have a feeling that if I'd been born in 1951 instead of 61 then I'd have enjoyed the era even more. One of the bizarre things is that the younger people working in our labs chose a radio station that plays 60s to 80's music, but nothing else. When I hear songs from my teens and 20s it can really remind me of grey London streets or the feeling of having been out on a bike all morning and then come home for lunch.

I think there's a Vanish version. We use it in Mrs Nod's studio a couple of times a year. Doesn't make vacuuming fun! However, it does make it easy to see where you've been.

Yeah, I just got some recently to freshen the carpets in the bedrooms here, couldn't find it in any of the big stores but the ol' reliable 'pound shops' [in my case Dealz] is where you might find it.

I think I'll pass on that :D

Hey, what about UFO, The Tomorrow People, Catweazle, White Horses, Belle and Sebastian, HOW, Dr Who (with Jon Pertwee or Tom Baker), Grandstand, Mission Impossible, Blue Peter, Magpie and Follyfoot... and who could forget those 1970s 'public safety information films' like the one featuring Reginald Molehusband?

Talking of public information films, I'll leave you with this classic from 1973. Goodnight children, sleep well!
