A SpidersEye View: A picture a day

DSC_0398.jpg

Just a bit of fun. I twisted 2 bits of fabric together, and added kaleidoscope effect in Paint Shop Pro :)

I probably enjoy preparing mangoes more than I enjoy eating them :D

I like that PS effect, and fun food is good :D

Thankyou, yes I enjoy playing with food :D

I will resume with this on Friday as I'm working away this week, I didn't have a great weekend so took no photos so there'll be a batch of them when I get back :)

23.06.2009

I've been working in Dumfries & Galloway this week doing bat / bird surveys in the baking hot sunshine. This is the vlew from my room at the B&B.

24.06.2009

I spent a few hours on Wednesday sitting in an old quarry and took a shot of a broken piece of stone. It didn't work out as well as it could've but I like the idea and I will come back to it I think :)

I quite like finding wood horsetail - it reminds me of miniature trees. This was taken from ground level.

Just a quick shot of something that cheered me up today. I mixed some paint that is almost an exact match for my car out of 2 tins of Hammerite :D

I was hoping for good weather when I got back to Edinburgh today as there's some work I want to do on my car before it goes to another show in a couple of weeks' time. Typically, the sea mist came in and it's too damp to get any painting done, and I doubt it will have shifted by tomorrow either :(

Thanks Jonny, yeah it's for the callipers. They're green at the moment and so I thought I'd colour code them. I managed to get one done today and had to finish that off under an umbrella :( Hopefully we'll have better weather tomorrow so I can do the other 3 :)

Oh dear - I haven't been doing too well with this lately have I :(

I'm working away this week, I'll be back on Friday and I'll update then. Then I'll try my best to get back on track!

I think I might change the title of this thread to 'A picture a weekday' ... I'm working away from home alot at the moment and only have the weekends to get stuff done at home, which had mainly involved boring domestic stuff, food shopping and doing things to my car, none of which is what I really want to fill my thread with.

Anyways ... I've been up in the Highlands this week doing plant surveys. This is one of my favourite flowers :)

Not a very good picture as they were really distant but I really like it :)

Another miniature tree picture :)

Dwarf willow is one of the smallest trees in the world. This one is probably as big as it's going to get, I think it was about 4 inches high.

This is the remains of an ancient forest that's been preserved in a peat bog, and has been exposed as the peat has worn away. It's probably a good few thousand years old.

This is a red grouse nest that has been predated, probably by a rat or a stoat, before the eggs have hatched :(

Bogwood shot is really great Kay

Thanks very much :)

I haven't abandoned this project, I promise! I have pictures from last week and this weekend to add, I'm not at home just now so will get up to date tomorrow when I get back :)

Right then ... I'm a bit disappointed in myself for letting this get over a week out of date! :(

I've been working away from home alot and having really busy weekends too so had very little time to sort my pictures out :(

Anyway ... two pictures for 2 weekends ago:

Day 116 - Cramond

One of favourite local places for a little trip out. I went out to do a photoshoot for the car club forum, so stopped off here first.

Day 117 - Finally finished

I know I said I wasn't going to take pictures of it, but after after having spent a total of about 15 hours of the weekend preparing it for a show, I was quite pleased with the result of my efforts so thought I'd share :)

A very busy week last week, so only managed 2 photos (and not great ones at that). The weather was miserable and there was so much work to do that in terms of photos the week was a bit of a fail :(

Day 118

365118.jpg

Had a break and a shelter behind some rocks and quited liked the bits of grass growing out of it :)

Day 119

365119.jpg

Just a record shot of a pool I had to have a look at, shortly before I went up the big hill in the background :)

12th July 2009. The day of the Briskoda National Rally, in the car park at the museum (Warwickshire). It was the largest gathering of Skodas ever in the UK (160 altogether). However, I thought I'd try a detail shot of some of the vehicles in the museum (which is well worth a visit) - this is a tracked Land Rover :)

It was quite a busy weekend for me, I drove a total of 712 miles

My mum broke her wrist a couple of weeks ago when she slipped trying to free a stone from the tread on her shoe :(

I had no idea you could get casts in different colours, but anyway she chose pink, and asked me to draw something on it before I left and headed back up the road to Edinburgh. Doing the Skoda logo wasn't my idea :D

I met up with some friends from the car club yesterday evening at South Queensferry, underneath the Forth Bridge. I doubt there are any original pictures left to take of the bridge, but everytime I go there I have to shoot it :)

My view of the castle when I got back from work today.

That's me up to date again (for now :|) - I'll do my best to catch up with everyone else's 365s tomorrow :)

I walked through the park on the way home from work today, in the rain.

Yellow flag iris:

Grey heron:

This was taken with my Ixus and the quality isn't great, but he sits there on a regular basis so I might go back over the next couple of days :)

Thanks Jonny. I think I hit a bit of a bad patch with this project, and when I'd left it for so long, I found it difficult to get back into it :(

Hopefully I'm back on track now and there will be no more lengthy gaps :)

Taken in my local park (Inverleith). I need to start photographing birds that aren't ducks now I think :)
