A SpidersEye View: A picture a day

Botanic garden is a nice abstract shot, and I've not been drinking and it's made me cross eyed

Well, it's sent my eyes completely daft, or is that the 8 beer??

I love the simplicity of the feather shot. :)

Thanks for the comments. The glasshouse picture didn't look quite that mad when I took it, but I do like taking pictures that have this effect :D

It took me ages to get a picture I liked of that feather, I have lots to learn about lighting :)

Just a really quick picture from me today (sorry).

This is some of the field equipment I'll be using next week; I'm off into the highlands (near Inverness) to carry out some bird surveys. It's a really remote place I'm off to, it's a 2 1/2 hr drive from here on road, then 1hr off road :D

I won't have internet access again until I get home on Wednesday but I've packed my cameras :)

I keep dipping into this threa, Kay and thought it was time I commented again. :)

I'm enjoying all the different things you spot to shoot - feathers, wheelbarrows, bridges (from underneath), flowers, ribbon - and tons more. It's like a magpie's nest - only very creative.

Well done. Looking forward to the 200+ to come.:clap:

Thankyou for the comments :)

I'm back home now, had an interesting 2 days wandering around on a peat bog in the north - I took a few hundred photos which I'll sort out when I get back from the office this evening and then I'll get the thread up to date :)

I came across an interesting fence, long since past its best. I love the textures of old bits of wood, rusty wire and lichen :)

The road back home. I had to wait quite a while for the road to clear before I took this; there was no-one about when I stopped, and as soon as I got the camera out there were cars and lorries everywhere :)

Like the BIG feel (and fluffy clouds) of the landscape in 38, with the pickup (SUV) it looks like an American midwest kind of shot.

38 looks lovely!! I'm expecting native American's to come over the hill any moment!

Yeah it's pretty wild and remote out there! I didn't see a soul all day! The skies stayed like that for most of the day too, I took quite alot of pictures that were just of clouds :)

I won't be able to post a picture tomorrow as I'm off to Dumfries and Galloway for 2 days so there'll be 2 pictures on Friday :)

I spent the day in a conifer plantation today. It was really cloudy, and blowing a gale, so photograph-wise it wasn't that great a day. Here's a shot of a solar panel :)

I came across Dundrennan Abbey on my way home today. I love looking round old buildings and ruins.

And seeing as I took so many pictures this week, here's an extra 'fluffy sky' picture too :)

Ioooohhh the fluffy sky picture is lush! :)
And it does look like you were parked in the middle of Nowhere!

The spot where I'm parked was around 6 miles from the nearest road, and the track I turned off goes on for about 20 miles, so it really is remote!

Thanks for looking :)

solar panel texture is interesting. Abbey is well framed and clouds really stand out, all great shots :)

I really like the composition on the Abbey picture Kay

Thankyou, glad you like it. I had to do quite a bit of scrambling to get this picture! I'll post up some other pictures I took in a seperate thread when I've sorted through them :)

I went along to the TP meet at Edinburgh Zoo today. I have hundreds of photos to sort out and I'll start a seperate thread when I've done them. I was quite pleased with this one of a scarlet ibis.

Another catch-up session for me!

Love your office car park - not a pay and display in sight. Thank you for the 'extra' of a fluffy sky - always most welcome! The scramble to get the Abbey shot was well worth it imo. :)

It looks as though you're enjoying some good weather up there and that tree just shouts 'Spring'.

I didn't know there was such a bird as scarlet ibis - it's an incredible colour. Very nice capture.

Thanks Jean :)

The weather has turned really nice, last week in the Highlands was great, and I caught the sun at the zoo today!

I've made a start on sorting through all the pictures I took at the abbey, there are so many! Alot of them work better in b&w though, I'll post some up when I've finished :)

Thanks for commenting, it's much appreciated.

My pleasure! I look forward to seeing more of the Abbey - sometimes you can just look at an image ans immediately 'see' it in B&W, can't you! Please give me a head up when you post them. :)

Sorry only just started to look at your 365s...

You have taken some fantsics shots so far...

I take my hat off to you...:notworthy:

I'm having trouble doing one a week...

I look forward to tracking your progress...

I'll try and get them posted up either today or Friday (I'm away again from tomorrow). I think b&w suits this kind of image. I'll put the link to them into this thread :)

Taken on my way home from work today. There are quite alot of flowers out now. I love this time of year when things start to bloom (makes things much easier to identify!)

I'm working away from home tomorrow until Friday so there will be 4 pictures upon my return :)
