A really good compact

I have had a long look & re-think about this camera & i don,t think the 200mm side is something that i need now.
The 24-70mm faster lens on the mk5 makes more sense to me,so that is what i am thinking just now.
I am still looking through loads of youtube reviews on everything,as i just want a pocketable camera to take out all the time with me for a nice landscape i might see.
I don,t really use video,so that is something i am not really interested in,stills IQ is the first thing i would like.:)

You can save a lot of money getting a Mk4 or Mk5 but if this is going to be your only camera, in the long run you may wish you have the extra reach of the Mk6.
I personally don't think the aperture speed is that bigger deal and I'd much rather have the extra reach and a slower lens but only you can decide.
Whatever you choose all the RX100 series are little gems.

I know what you are saying & i have had a good look at a lot of my photos recently & i am just doing more landscape type shots now.
So i think the 24-70mm will be fine for me.:)

Lol!
Just be aware there are two variants of the Mk V

The Mk V and the Mk V a.

The latter has some bells and whistles from the mk Vi. Research carefully as many retailers get them confused!

Oh right never seen that one, looking on Wex 0r Amazon it just comes up with the MkV:(

I don,t see a Mk V a. anywhere on the internet.

RAW Support will come soon I imagine.
Affinity Pro supports it, although I just downloaded the trial version to try and don't like it.
I use LR and Aperture 1 but it's not supported by these yet.
I shoot RAW and jpg for now and can process the RAW files once it's supported.
Here's some pics taken with it, all ooc jpgs, the 2 of the dogs are ISO 6400.
The one of the wind gens was taken at full zoom but is post cropped a bit too.

love your wire Dachshund looks just like my last one Coco.

It goes to more than 70mm with clear image zoom ( i think it's called)
You can seamlessly go in further which is achieved by cropping but it's not like a crappy digital zoom there is minimal loss of quality.

I can,t for the life of me find this camera for sale.
Sony DSC RX100 VA Camera
I can find plenty of MkV ones.
