Well thanks to minimeeze, I got my copy of the Freelance Photographers Handbook. I was having a read last night and stumbled across a section that lists studio hire up and down the country. No harm in looking I thought, but I was a bit peeved (living in the middle of Derbyshire) that they were mostly based in London. I was reading them out loud…

“London, London, London…”

My eyes widened.

“COALVILLE?”

What are the chances of that? A huge studio for hire with backdrops and lights and free tea and coffee (:D) just 5 miles down the road from me!!!! And with reasonable hourly rates too!

I know that was random, but I am quite chuffed this morning :woot:

I dont have a shoot booked, but its nice to know I have somewhere to take people now :D

This book is great, my fella Darren is setting me challenges from it, he picks a company at random and I have to get something published in it! I know it wont be that easy :D

In all seriousness though, I am not looking to go freelance, but its nice to know what that options are, there are literally thousands of companies after images :)

Thanks for that Matty, not a deal changes year to year, and all the changes are printed in the front of the book anyway :)

Thanks for that! £120 a day is pretty hardcore compared to the £40 per day I was used ot paying over at the Picture House. That was such an awesome place...

Perhaps there's peoples in the midlands area who'd be interested in organising some studio (Nearly wrote stupido!) shooting time so the costs could be split up?
 
glitter has a studio meet every month in the jewellery quarter in brum. i can't remember which section it is in, but the next one is july i think
