A quick question on LR

I have LR CC on both my desktop and laptop. if I download pictures on my desktop and save them to an external drive can I work on them on my laptop and desktop?

You need to save the catalogue on the external drive as well.

It is the catalogue that all your edits are saved in, so just open that catalogue on either machine and all should be fine.

It is automatically saved every time you close Lightroom.

You just have to tell LR where to save it (i.e. your external drive) - which is in Preferences - and make sure the drive uses the same drive letter (e.g. E on both computers.

That could be where I am going wrong - with the drive letter. I will give that a try when I get home, thank you.
