A Question for Macro Togs

Does this depend on the lens used and/or the shooting distance?

Only asking because I just tried mine for an 1:1 magnification photo and the illumination looks perfect (to my eyes!).

It's the distance rather than strictly the magnification.

It does depend on the shooting distance (the ring is really wide after all). From experience 100mm on 1.6x at 1:1 starts to suffer from this. However 180mm on crop *may be* good. I believe ebay replica rings are a little smaller.

Hmmm, 12" is a bit long.
B&H do loads of flexible arms at pretty good prices problem is the shipping and duty more than doubles the price, and I can't find them in UK.

PERFECT. Thats just what I had in mind. Just need to get a basic base plate.
