OK, here’s one for those who live near, or travel on, the bottom of the A249 Detling Hill; the stretch from Junction 7 of the M20 through to Jade’s Crossing.

As I drive home from work every evening, I can see a poppyfield off to the left. It appears to be about a half a mile away and right on the Pilgrim’s Way. However, I’ve turned off onto the Pilgrim’s Way, and travelled both ways to Boxley Road and back, and even parked and wandered around, and I can’t find it!!

Does anyone know exactly where this poppyfield is? Or am I seeing Brigadoon?!?

Help!

I know what you mean, there's one further on in Luddesdowne that I could always see and it took me forever to find it and that was only because I went up in a microlight and took pictures hahaha

Can't help you with the location though, sorry

I'm thinking of just parking in the layby at the bottom of the 249 and just trogging across the fields!!

Google is no help either. There was a thread on another forum that I found which said you need to go left or something at the church but the thread was from 2009 so I think that might be a little out of date

The church is on the other side of the 249 lol
Thanks for looking though. :-)

Thanks.....not the right field. I know where that one is and dormant this year :(

A well targeted Facebook post my yeald results in a local group...

Or a specific area + poppies search on Flickr will very likely find the field and details on how to find it most likely too...poppy fields attract almost as many photographers as a nude lady who's modesty is hidden only by Jaffa cakes

Calm down man, you know the doctor told you your not allowed to get that excited more than once a year :p
Tonight's the night

Just remember to stick your hat on the staff room door handle, and be a good chap and put down a tarp this time, otherwise Yv will send you the cleaning bill this time :P :wideyed::nailbiting::muted: :schtum:

Pretty well known on here that I don't facebook.

have you tried using google satelite view to work out roughly where the field is and whether its accessible?

I've had a look.
I was sure I'd found the right one.
Clearly not lol.

That would be the one behind the cricket pitch (Luddesdowne CC), just along from the Golden Lion pub I presume?

Well that was one of two suggestions, have you tried the second suggestion? As to being well known you don't do Facebook I didn't know how would I....use a website don't use a website it matters not one iota to me it was only a suggestion to resolve to your predicament

Perhaps ask @kelack if she can get something out onto facebook? ;)

I could but most of my friends are South London and North Kent and oblivious to anything that's not football or rugby

No, just down from Dode Church. Mind you, there are a couple round our way.

Take a look down Scragged Oak Road. That rings a bell for some reason.

Worth a worthington! I know the field I can see isn't up there (wouldn't be visible from the bottom of the 249) but you never know what you might find up Scragged Oak.
Found a cracking blubell wood once!
Thanks for the idea!
