I've recently started buying bulk 35mm b&w film for home loading. I've also invested in some plastic screwtop barfen film cannisters and pop-top recycleable metal ones.
The old boys at the shop which develops my film are poo-pooing these metal ones and are, in fact, suggesting simply taping my film onto the captive leader on "ordinary" film canisters, providing me with a handful and offers of "as many as you like".
The ones they've given me have only a very short leader, say 5mm, sticking out of the cannister and I'm wondering about the feasibility of finding an adhesive tape thin enough to pass through the slot (currently I use paper-based masking tape) and sticky enough to hold on with just a few mm's of overlap. And, of course, the fun of doing that in the dark!
What do you guys use please?
