A Proper Enlarger

I think if you need to ask how much it costs you can't afford one

And think how much a 6x6 sheet of paper costs ... I'm talking feet not cm

Well with my hearing I didn't quite hear what he was saying erm bit of an overkill for a 35mm neg :D but wait he had a massive neg so what camera would shoot that o_O

It would have to be bought on a roll, and the widest Harman do is only 56" - less than 6 feet. The length of the roll is about 100 feet, and the cost is a little over $1,000 (not a typo - I couldn't find it in the UK). When I were young, I thought in terms of 30"" as a roll width.

In the late fifties I was making 3meter square enlargements in sections of 1meter wide.
That was with a studio in madrid owned By Gallerias Preciados, they were changed monthly as back drops in all their store windows.
We used a lage Durst lab enlarger flipped 90.degrees to the horizontal. At first we hung the paper on the wall and developed it with sponges, but later had large plastic dums that rotated in troughs. You only needed 5 litres of developer to make a print.

I was just worried about the lack of fruit in his bowl.

Having direct experiences like yours is what makes this forum so great (y)

He likely had no funds left to buy fruit after paying out for paper…..poor fella he'll waste away!:D
