....does anyone who appears on this program actually buy a property....or are they all expected to say "We are going home to think about it." At the end of the show.....

I always think it's just for people who want a free holiday. Or to get their mug on the telly.

I don't watch contrived s***e like that. End of!!

You strike me as more a sort of "Coach trip" or "Come dine with me" kind of guy:D
I watch neither of them, I'll not say why because I'll get accused of being homophobic;)

My neighbour appeared on "Come Dine With Me". She had to cook her 8th choice of menu ( actually she didn't have 8 menus, but the show kept rejecting her choices ), when the show aired, naturally, her "choice" was a detested item by one of her guests. Since then I never really watched it anymore.
BRASH - I get what you're saying, only completely over the top camp people seem to be guests anymore ( my other half still watches it ) rather than a true representation of the world.........

To answer the original question, yes some do buy one of the properties they are shown.

There is a 'Place in the Sun' show in Manchester over a weekend in March. Worth a visit if your in the market to get a property abroad.

Once chosen to appear, it's apparently not "all expenses paid" either.

I sorted of guessed that as we applying to get my mum and dad's garden done over by Titchmarsh and co..to be successful you had to produce 10k and they provided an additional 4k......so we withdrew the application as the local landscaper could do it for half the price.....

Like all estate agents, the PITS lot seem to ignore things like budget restraints and bedroom numbers when picking properties. Why show people who want a 3 bed house for under £100,000 a 2 bed flat for £150,000?

Because deals can be done on price, and i've seen plenty of examples of folks changing their minds about property types once they've been shown something they previously wouldn't have considered (often for no apparent reason).

Just to dredge this old thread up: What strikes me every time I watch it is the height difference between Jasmine and the couple taking part.
She always appears to be 6" to a foot taller than them, and it's not because she's closer to the camera.
She's 5'8" BTW
