A Picture a day (My 365) . . . Made it to the End!

Very nice Portsmouth picture. The yellow colour reminds me of the movie Training day - they´re using this type of colour there as well.

24th September: Thermal light trail art

Car light trails, 4 second exposure whilst zooming out from 100 - 400mm, then converted to thermal infrared with Color Efex Pro. Don't ask why, not a good day.

Love the nuclear spider Julian. Not too sure about today's though - a bit wacky for me - I thought my Abbey shot yesterday was pretty 'out there'!

Thanks Dave, don't really like the pastel colours, but whilst driving around Southsea at lunch these were just crying out to be snapped ;)

26th September: Ship and Awe

Another ship shot from one of my favorite spots in Southampton, Mayflower Park. I have already snapped the Independence of the Seas in my 365. In-case you don't already know she (and her 2 sister ships) are the biggest cruise ships on the planet currently in service. Normally I would have a closeup shot of just the ship, but since my last visit jetty's have sprung up just in front of the Independence's berth, so it spoils the clean view, so I decided to do something I don't often do, and take a shot with people in it. I feel it helps in this instance to convey the sheer size of this beast.

Again this res does no justice to the shot, viewed full size I can make out running machines on the upper decks ;)

Probably not Julian. let's just say the temptation hasn't completely gone away. I actually need to sit down and work out what I really need to do with the redundancy money, a D700 would be lovely but probably not a viable option. A 70-200VR? That's another matter.. :D

Watched Training Day last night, the green shades when he's just taken the test are a lovely look that I will definitely try to replicate.
Great movie isn´t it? I like the intro from the film company where they use the "yellow filter".

Southsea Beach is great, very colourfull and from a good perspective.

Wow thats big!

And Royal Caribbean are building 2 new ships (Oasis and Allure of the Seas) that will be a third bigger again than the Independence, WOW!!!

27th September: Autumn has arrived.

Dangerous shot this, I was risking a crooked neck ;)

Love yesterdays Julian - I'm off on the Independence Of The Seas in late October for my yearly holiday :D Not sure if it's as big as the Independence though?

Today's is fab - fantastic colours - love it!

Is it autumn already?? Where did summer go??

Something completely different from you again Julian.

Tell me about it, what a year!

Thanks Jonny, don't want to become predictable :)

28th September: The dying embers of the day...

After helping put the children to bed I noticed the fantastic sunset behind the wood. I grabbed my camera bag and rushed into the woods (crashing into logs and all sorts), just managed to get to the edge before the sun disappeared below the horizon, phew ;)
