Thanks Dave, very kind. every night this week I have placed an object on the kitchen table and photographed it. Tonight I didn't even bother with the tripod or light tent, just the flash and the macro lens ;)

so what was in it??? anything of interest??

Still enjoying the 365, although i dont comment often

They might only be filler shots, but they are all excellent. Do you remember my light tent phase?? We all have them Julian.

Thanks fletch, always glad to receive comments whenever folks have the time :)

The box contained some technical books, nothing too exciting, but I still like recieving boxes from Amazon ;)

Thanks JD, nice comments from you lot this week, considering I'm not that happy with them, but still it's a photo ;)

17th September: Down the castle steps.

Not as much of a filler shot tonight, I had planned this one. Taken right at the top of Porchester Castle.

Makes me dizzy that does Julian - I know how steep those steps are - I really wouldn't fancy climbing those with a heavy backpack full of camera gear!

Haha hadn't thought about the urbex effect when taking this, but now you mention it . . . ;)

Using the 50mm really made me work to try all sorts of angles, for this shot I was right at the top and balancing on a metal railing to get the vertigo type effect. the more and more I use primes the more I prefer them, makes you work more for a shot and thus becomes more satisfying.

I can tell you Dave, I had to move really slow taking these shots, I had visions of bouncing down the steps :gag:

I love it too Dave, but need to go with someone, maybe we should attempt a joint urbex visit somewhere local, maybe with the others too for backup (me scared?!?!?) ;)

Ahhh cool,

So anywhere I guess from around Winchester, down to Southampton and across to Gossport and Portsmouth. Must be all sorts of possibilities in that area, just knowing where to look.

Thanks Lisa, I did feel a bit funny doing, then had the vision of me tumbling down the steps, so I decided to call time ;)
