A Picture a day (My 365) . . . Made it to the End!

Big catch up day for me - just been so busy with work, and i've just started a H&S course through work, so lots and lots of homework :(

Totally understand, not easy this 365 lark, let alone commenting on them all ;)

Good luck with the course!

8th September: Decaying Lamppost, HDR style, bit abstract tonight!

My orange slice in fizzy pop shot yesterday is the most commented on photo on SmugMug daily photo gallery, so that was nice

Thanks mate :D

Was thinking of your urbex shots when I processed today's image. You need to take some more ;)

Love it  - Whats it like in B&W :D

And well done on the Number 1 slot :)

9th September: Bubbles, another macro!

All out of ideas :(

Lovely colours and reflections on this one Julian :)

10th September: Little wreck at Hilsea.

Risked getting completely muddied to take this shot as I approached the boat at low tide. Did intend a B&W conversion for this shot, but works better in colour, the vivid green seaweed adds a nice contrast.

The images the 5D2 produces are wasted at this resolution, think I'm going to swith my SmugMug galleries to look like this

11th September: Spinnaker Tower

With clear blue skies, I decided to take a quick trip at lunch to shoot the tower, with the intention that the white tower against blue sky would do. From this distance it's really hard to decide on what angle to shoot, slight variations make all the difference.

Initial single image saved as 3 separate exposures and HDR image generated in Photomatix. In Photoshop I used Sliver Efex Pro for B&W conversion, applied a a slight cold blue filter and then noise correction via Noiseware. Finally added a Gaussian blur layer and merged with overlay to give it a kind of ethereal effect. Not processed images this way before, but like the effect.

Had planned to do the Spinnaker tower again on a blue sky day (as my previous shot was totally overcast) and the idea was in my head from seeing Dave's night shot yesterday ;)

Thanks Dave and thanks for your shot the day before, helped me decide what to take yesterday ;)

12th September: Goal Kick

Short of ideas, so wandered up to the football ground in the village, nice little challenge trying to get decent action shots.

Thanks Jonny, first time I used my 100-400 zoom on sports, damn difficult to get a decent shot. I took this shot before I set the camera to continuous shooting mode, so bit of luck getting it spot on ;)

13th September: Yak & Russian aircraft fly-in at Popham Airfield

Nice day watching aircraft with Dave (DaveKiddle), still as good as the first time, such freedom to wander. Added a bit of punch with the processing on this one, plus cloned out some distracting sky in the background.

Nice one Julian! I originally chose my version of this as my 365 shot today, but changed it after looking at the others - I just couldn't decide!

Even at this size I can see the detail in that, it's incredible.

Thanks mate, this was at 235mm (on my 100-400) so you can see how close you can get. Processing some more and will include some more that show how close you can get.

Thanks Dave, I really found it hard to choose too :|
