A Picture a day (My 365) . . . Made it to the End!

Hey Julian I'm just catching up on your thread and I must say what a great set of shots. The garage one is by far the favourite for me :D
Keep going mate!

I like the last ship shot, lots of interesting things to look at there

I went to the Spinnaker tower last year when I was working nearby, it is very impressive. Great views from the top too

I haven't done a ship shot yet ...

Thanks Kay, yeah love the Spinnaker tower, looking for different angles, so will be back. Look forward to a ship shot ;)

Simply amazing. It looks like you've tried to create a mirror before you realise what's going on, very clever.

Thanks matt, actually it was not until folks mentioned the mirror effect that I noticed :) I took the shot as they were fixed on each other for ages, was very funny.

Hi Julian, I'd thought I'd have a good ol' TP catch-up session and decided to take myself to this thread.
And I'm glad to say that I did as there are a lot of brilliant photos in here. I LOVE that cat & dog one. I honestly thought it was a mirror or you did some clever photoshop trickery to it, but when I realised the whole thing was real, it had the effect of making me go tingly (I get like that when I really like something, whether it's a good bit of music, video or picture).
Although I never reply to every thread going, please don't assume because there's not enough interest going around, far from it as I enjoy looking at your work. Keep it up and looking forward to seeing more of the same. Good work!

Thanks Ian, no worries. Still following your blog too, some great stuff you produce also provides inspiration for me ;)

Thanks Dave, yeah garage shot is one of my favourites too. My sister wants it framed for a Christmas present :)

17 May: Laburnum Leaf
Intention was a nice shot of a beautiful laburnum flower, but back lighting the leaf seemed even more impressive

That's a lovely picture, the backlighting has really brought out the detail in the leaf :)

May 18th: I'm Tigger, bounce with me....
Bit of a grab shot, but I don't care today, having been informed last month of my redundancy I was offered the job I really wanted today!!!

Yeah, was in the running for 2 jobs, and got offered the one I really wanted, I'm soooooooo happy :)

Congratulations

and I like the processing on the tigger shot

Thanks nicnok :)

Well done mate, nowt wrong with the shot either

Thanks Cyclone

Love yesterday's and today's shots

Thanks Dave, yesterday was one of those days where I tried all sorts and was getting stressed, but happy with the leaf shot in the end. Todays also turned ot ok too ;)

19th May: Playing with mercury !?!?
No . . . just the condensation on the inside of a kettle, lit by the internal blue LED. Having the kettle on and the lid open and the macro lens just inches from the opening meant I had to be double quick taking this shot. Processed in PS for curves, levels and desaturation.

yeah I've got the da da da da theme in my head now and can visualize the mercury blobs coming together......er hang on that is the beer talking.

Ahh cool, I don't normally drink on a school night, but had some bottles of TangleFoot from my self congratulatory drink from yesterday in getting the job offer :)

20th May: Logs that look like finger prints (well they do to me)
All sorts of processing on this one, cross-processing, B&W channel mixer, curves, yellow photo filter and dodge & burned.

Started shooting this log pile, but the battery ran out of juice before I could move on to other subjects, been trying to find a spare canon LP-E6 battery for the 5Dmk2 but it's like trying to find WMD in Iraq

Thanks JD, another abstract shot, but didn't have much choice, think the processing is a little a different to make it interesting enough

21st May: Huf Haus
This German designed and prefabricated Huf house in the next village to me has great views over the Hampshire country side. I'm sure it's not to everyone's taste, but I love it!!

Hopefully I can pick up my new Canon 100-400 tomorrow too, can't wait as I've never owned a decent super tele before :)

That house is great!! I like it lots :)

I like the condensation picture also, very cool effect with the blue light

Yeah, I'm sure the house is not everyones cup of tea, I would love to build a Huf Haus somewhere in the south/south-west.

Whoa, that thing's huge!
How much does one of those set you back?

Hehe, well that one is near Sandbanks (Sandbanks is one of the top 3 most expensive places to live in the world). Interesting the one in your link for sale looks very similar to the one near me, but with an extra floor. You got me dreaming again now

I really like Huf Haus's, and your picture just makes me want one evern more. You never know - if my 6 numbers are up on Saturday

On the 7" screen on my wife's netbook that looked like 3595 for a moment

For that there would be a Huf Haus in every street :D

Gonna have to switch the computer off now and stop dreaming of Huf's. Oh and we're about to watch a Grand Designs, great :)
