A Picture a day (My 365) . . . Made it to the End!

Thanks JD, it is nicer to be called by your name, maybe I should add it to my signature :)

I'm rubbish with names (really rubbish!), so it would certainly help :)

As for the shot - i've gotta agree it does look like its from behind the Iron Curtain, and i really like the processing

6th May: PlayStation Crash - Worst day so far in this 365 quest, total lack of inspiration, so this image really sums things up :(

Pfft.
I think it's a pretty cool shot!
Like the head too, that's crazy.

Yeah it's GRID Race Driver demo on PS3. Race parts are great, but hate the drift section.

7th May: Odd One Out
Live View, what a fantastic feature! Used it to zoom in and focus on the exact area I wanted.

The crash picture's great - I wouldn't be unhappy with that, it worked well! :)

Love the CAMRa picture too

Loads of detail Julian, I can see a carrot but what's the green things??

JD is Jedi for salad dodger...

Thanks JD

Haha - green stuff = asparagus ;)

Love the CAMRa picture too

Thanks Kay, yeah crash pic was not too bad in the end, was just a long bad evening of trying all sorts of stuff and nothing worked.

8th May: Unnerving Doll
Whilst in the bathroom I caught a glimpse of one of my girls dolls and it's vacant stare looked a little unnerving, so I decided to use it as today's subject matter.

9th May: The Bank
3 shot AEB, HDR processed in Photomatix, then played around with cross processing adjustment in curves layer and lot of dodging and burning in PS

Thanks JD, yeah applied the cross processing in curves adjustment layer and it look too freaky, so adjusted each RGB channel down a bit to make it more subtle effect. The building was actually pure white, but looks much more iteresting like this IMO ;)

10th May: 'Something a little different'
Took a few shots of Winchester cathedral, but nothing quite worked, on the way back my little girl loves playing around this modern sculpture in the cathedral grounds, so I decided to to have a play with something different. B&W conversion of the background sections, plus dodging and burring and a sprinkling of clone tool in PS.

Sorry about the legs (I always wear shorts, casual me)

But given it was a quick grab shot, I really happy with how it's turned out too (the shot, not my legs) :)

11th May: 'We are no longer a working garage' - Now it's a toy garage :)
Went out for a drive at lunch and saw this fantastic derelict garage, so started snapping away, together with another guy who appeared with a camera, think he was interested in buying the garage too (how cool).
Was only going to tweak the colours on this shot as the garage was just so photogenic, but decided to go the extra mile and apply tilt lens effect, took my poor PC ages to apply the lens blur filter. anyway I really like the result :)

Thanks JD, didn't get inside:
1) never crossed my mind
2) the prospective owner was also taking pictures
3) it looked well locked up
4) was right on the main high street and a little busy

Hmmm I'm going to need to try a bit harder at this urbex stuff :)

Given this place is not far away and the potential for other shots, I may be back ;)

Tangle Foot is my fav beer, brewed down in Dorset :)

The stuff is ice, filled an empty can with water and stuck it in the freezer. The whole back of the can is split wide open, just wanted to see what it looked like and use for my photo

Hi Julian, just catching up - really excellent set of shots - the variety is superb. The doll is just plain scary and the garage really appeals.

Thanks nicnok :)

Good picture and an interesting idea, I like that. Tanglefoot is very nice! :D

Thanks Kay, just looking at the pic makes me want to get in the car and go buy some more :)
