A Picture a day (My 365) . . . Made it to the End!

Thanks JD, used my Macro on the new camera for the 2nd time and went out into the woods by my house, took me ages to get 'the shot', the wind is a real pain sometimes.

Thanks Chris, this shot was the only one that I got DoF just right, given the movement of bluebell.

22nd Apr: Cooling Down

I love the abstract its gorgeous and very eyecatching. The leopard one appeals to me too.
I am rather partial to highland cows and todays is a very nice shot, I like the composition.

Thanks :)

Today's was very heavily cropped but seems to work well enough.

23rd Apr: Bates Motel
Just messing around as I was late back from work, saw this sign on the way home and applied Fresco filter in PS to give it that 60's horror look. Well it's different and I kind of like it :)

Thanks Chris, is a bit strange, and was a nothing picture obviously. The simplicity and filter really makes it for me, plus gotta try somehting whacky and different now and again ;)

24th Apr: India
The country has had a direct impact on my job this week, also it's they're elections. So seems like a good enough idea for a theme (& also an excuse to use the cameras ISO 50 setting)

Yes you should get a macro lens, great fun!

I really like the closed sign SM!!

But what were you doing hanging round such an establishment??

Thanks JD, Sign is actually in the little local garage, but it certainly looks like a ceedy joint in my shot:naughty:

25th Apr: Bliss
Whilst out for a walk today, this field of rape and sky had polariser written all over it :)

2nd Feb: Forecasters said it was the most severe snow in the UK for six years. Had trouble finding a decent snowy composition that worked today, so settled for the under saturated snow laden skies over field and maize game cover. 3 RAW AEB exposures merged in Photomatix then Photoshop for dodging, gradient and levels adjustments

i love snow

Love the angle on the Rape field picture. I personally would have framed it so the horizon was on the corners, but thats just me

Many thanks for all your greatcomments Sarah :)

Thanks Chris, I noticed the horizon thing afterwards ;)

Not a great fan of angles SM, I just find myself tilting my head.

Well processed as usual though.

Thanks JD, yeah I'm not an 'angles' man really, but gotta try something different every now and again ;)

26th Apr: Magnolia
Had a great family day in the sun today at Uppark House and Garden (National Trust), West Sussex and the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum. Normally I would have used a picture of one of the many historic buildings I shot today, but this magnolia looked sublime with the polariser. Viewed at 100% you can even see aphids on the leaves :)

Thanks Dave, weather forecast was so off for this weekend, it was perfect polariser weather :)

Haven't quite kept up pace with your shots SM - sorry ... also sorry to hear about the job - really hope something comes up for you. I know you say you've been expecting it - as we touched on a while ago re my job - but I and others that didn't get made redundant are now wishing they had been.

Any how... VERY best wishes for the future and I hope it turns out as golden as the "Bright Happy shot" from the 20th :)

Thanks Chris. Tonight's exercise of food colouring in water was very tricky. 99% of the shots I took were not great. Focusing on the movement of the colouring in the water was hard, plus the macro lens was picking up all the imperfections in the container.

28th Apr: Street Art

Hit a wall today (not literally, in the inspiration sense). Walked around town, not knowing what to shoot :(
