A Picture a day (My 365) . . . Made it to the End!

Was the shovel used to bury the ideas of buying a 50D??

It was to bury this lot :p

3rd Apr: Beer Goggles

Went into the office (2nd time this year), very little time for anything, but had a quick pint before home.

Thanks Dave, apart from my tree shot, didn't like this week much, hope for better next week.

4th Apr: Old Wardour Castle (English Heritage). Great castle for photographing, decided to go for this unusual angle as I like the punch the polarizing filter gives the sky. 3 AEB shot, HDR processed and curves etc in PS.

I really like that, I love the angles and the colour of the sky :)

Looks like you had nice weather today too.

Decided to change 4th April to this....

Same adjustments as above, but with lens distortion correction.

Thanks JD, I find some shots just don't work and others I spend ages making adjustments and I'm still not happy.

if you use photomatix, there are lots of tips on the interweb , for reducing noise etc. The best tip I can offer is start with the strength low, around 30 and then build it up after applying other setting changes

6th Apr: About time I did a macro flower shot and I could not resist a bit of HDR processing too (it's like a drug).

Thanks mate, wish I would have selected a different rose, this pink one is a bit pale

Love the castle and flower (not keen on the HDR in the cellar pic - sorry).
Where's that castle Julian? - it looks like an interesting place.

Thanks for your comments Dave and appreciate your honesty (I'm a coward and post nothing when I don't like pics  ).

Thanks Julian. I think I'll be paying this place a visit. I love old monuments like this. I might even try a few HDR shots myself when I know how to do it! ;)

Look forward to seeing them Dave ;)

050409's shot is very well processed and not in-yer-face HDR

Thanks Chilli :)

I love the macro flower picture - the colours are lovely (I don't think the rose is too pale at all :)).

Thanks SE, still wish I would have used a red rose :p

7th Apr: Watching the 'Big Stick'. When I heard that the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71 was going to stop off on it's way back to the US, I had to go down and take a look. She has been on tour supporting ISAF troops in Afghanistan on Operation Enduring Freedom. She is at anchor in the Solent (Stokes Bay) as she is to big to go into Portsmouth harbour (I took this from Lee-on-the-Solent). It's amazing to think this 'Monster' Nimitz class carrier is powered by 2 nuclear reactors!!!

She was a monster and well you probably know how I like big ships by now, took a 2 and half hour lunch break to go and see her :geek:

8th Apr: My country bolthole and if you look carefully enough you can just make out the flying pig :)

yeah of course :geek:

I liked the lines in the fields, that's what caught my eye.

Thanks JD

I really like that - the clouds are excellent. The lines draw the eye into the picture and the clouds match that.

Thanks, yeah the lines are a bit all over the place, but for some reason I really liked it too.

Nice leading lines in that last one SM

Thanks Chilli :)

9th Apr: Plans down the drain, tried to order a 5D mk2, not only is the 5D mk2 with 24-105mm L lens out of stock everywhere (I phoned just about every camera store in the land), but it seems the price is going up too :(
