A Picture a day (My 365) . . . Made it to the End!

22nd Mar: The glorious late afternoon sun falls on Mottisfont Abbey NT and the largest London Plane tree in the country (this tree is stunning, could spend a day just taking shots of it). 3 AEB shots processed HDR with slight dodge & burn editing in PS.

Been to Mottisfont so many times, but I'm sure I will be taking other shots from there for my 365.

Thanks JD, building is National Trust owned, and a lot of the inside is open to the public, it's a really great place to visit, beautiful rivers (Hampshire has the best IMO) and fantastic walled garden, along with a variety of amazing trees.

I love this picture, that tree is awesome!

Sounds like a good place to visit :)

lovely composition, just right with enough focus on both without distracting from either. Well done, difficult shot to get right imo. Fab light too.

Thanks Folks :)

No Exif as that is from a Tiff file saved in Photomatix from the 3 different exposure Raws. It was taken on my Sigma 18-50 at F20, ISO200, on a tripod. I had to wait a very very long time to get the shot with as few people in the frame as possible, cloned out the stubborn couple who refused to move ;)

Interesting shot that last one, I would not really consider keeping a tree in the foreground like that normally, but you have made me reconsider.
Fingers crossed for you with your job, that must be incredibly worrying for you.

Thanks Zarozina, they only other thing I would have liked to have tried, was if I stood on in front of the camera to show the sense of scale compared to the tree.

Thanks folks, I actually wanted the reflection to be out of focus, worked better like that I found.

The 23rd has impact. Not sure about todays, I cant decide whether I like it or not:thinking: At least its original.

Thanks all for the really interesting comments.

Dave, you got it in one, that's exactly what I was trying to achieve, a sense of mystery, the key being the the out of focus reflection . Thanks Nicnok your reaction is how I saw it :)

Thanks Chilli, think it would have been better if I moved further up the road and filled the frame with the winding road, but didn't want to get hit in the back by an X3, Range Rover etc :|

You need a DIY light box SM!!

I love the colour that the HDR has brought out, very bright. Love the detail and the reflection, can just make out the lego logo. Cool idea mate!

Did you try it with the blocks the other way round??

Thanks mate, yeah tried all sorts of angles, I was really really struggling for ideas today, even took a shot of the clouds, but that was so lame. This is a bad week.

25th Mar: The road is long, with many a winding turn...

This is a super shot Julian - you've certainly got 'the eye' - nice one

Don't worry about struggling for ideas every now and again - this 365 lark is bloody hard work trying to be creative every day considering the busy lifestyles we lead. I've managed to accept that some of my days will be light on creativity :)

Very bright and vivid - works well
Thanks Chilli - was ok for a desperate effort

I am suffering this week too - but the lego one is great. It´s funny when I started here I was not that keen on macro shots but now I think they can be fun.

Glad to hear you like macro now, I love my Tamron 90mm macro lens, opens up a whole new world :geek:
