A p*** was living next door to me - convicted

Carl, I don't know the ages of your children but by the time this guy comes out they'll be that much older and wiser. No consolation I know, but you can't go through the next few years worrying about it. When/if the guy ever comes home just ignore him, you have a life of your own, don't let this creep consume you. Good luck for the future.

It's a real shame you felt the need to taint some really thoughtful advice with your medievel opinion re the death penalty. :(

Thats your personal opinion Phil, not the general consensus in the UK.
But lets not derail this thread with our differences of opinion on the subject.

I respect you greatly as both a photographer and your contribution to the forums, your posts are a joy to read and very interesting, even if I don't agree with everything you have to say.
But in this thread I only mentioned the subject due to the OP bringing it up.

I feel really angry about this - that a dysfunctional family are living next door (the youngest lad who is his real kid) is a right weirdo. He has no friends, does not go out just potters about in the garden. Not a normal 15 year old teen (I was out getting into trouble with my mates, drinking and chasing girls - not the best role model either - but at least that is "normal").

Sorry to go back to the start but this bit worried me and I wonder if this youngster is perhaps more troubled than wierd and perhaps more of a victim than a wierdo. Whatever the case I do hope that it's not too late for him and that whatever makes him wierd to you can be resolved with help, I hope he receives some.
