If they bought it in cheaper than that, they might just want it out of their stock rather than have it hanging around, potentially infesting everything else.
Looks like it's gone... no idea how cheap it was. But I ordered a Canon 300mm 2.8 is I from mpb with a tiny bit of fungus for less than 500, about 3 years ago or so. I was surprised when it showed up!
