A little stuck on my new site help please

this is my new site im currently designing it in photoshop cs3 here is what i have done so far i im pretty happy with it myonly issue is im stuck on what to put on next any ideas would be great and how do i link the text do i do it in photoshop then convert to dreamweaver to do it i belive it is photoshop but i need help thanks in advance

i am a begginer in photoshop so be gentle lol

Could do a hundred and one things now, depends what you want from your site. Is it a portfolio or personal site. The one thing to remember is that the homepage is mostly what your visitors will see when the come to your site unless they use direct links, so you need to get your visitors attention or navigate them to where they need to be. Could be text and images, or images to sub category's of your site.

About the link text, if your wanting to use that exact text for your heading and menu etc, you need to slice your image up, one slice for the web address and one image for each of the menu items, then export them to either jpg or png, you then use those images in your code (dreamweaver) as placement text.

Also if your wanting that background you'll need to export a slice of the background and apply that as your background image, my solution would be do a small slice (small width and full height) then set it to top left and repeat horizontal
 
its more personal at the minute but if some one wants a image then i will sell but its more personal at the minute i want to learn how to fully run it first

ok i know where the slice tool is but im lost after that lol so i need to slice the text and then one for text i am really lost there
 
You'll need to export the slices as gif's and the ones with text in them will need to have a transparent background so the text will site nicely against the sites background (the gradient slice).

ok, glad I could be of assistant, one of your best resources is the internet, there are hundreds of tutorials about, otherwise just give us a shout if you get stuck
 
cheers bud it is now online well sort of i feel rather chuffed to get this far and yes i have a million and one questions lol but i have got this far alot of what you have said has made some sort of sense lol but you tube helped ut too to show me what you mean
 
See you got your site online, had a little look at the source and its not the most valid or standards complaint site, try looking at xhtml and css tutorials, you'll be starting in the right way then
 
didnt use dreamweaver just wanted a quick test to see if it worked will be trying to get most of it sorted out tommorrow

how do i get it alligned for full screen as it is only showing on the left and not in full
 
because you used the photo shop export slice tool it will only be as wide as the image made, that's why you need to export each item as single files and create site using xhtml and css like my example, as you have more range on what you are capable of doing
