Evening all...
Im not too new to the site but this will be the 1st time I am opening a thread.
I am new to photography and have recently bought a Canon Eos 400 D and have enrolled in a photography course.
Up till now I have been sitting in the background taking in the knowledge off of the site which all of you have been submitting.
I am now on a new module on my course and am a little confused so I thought I would turn to the pros
I have 3 questions which I am stuck on and was hoping some of you would be able to steer me in the right direction.
So here goes , and thanks in advance.
1. I was asked to tripod mount my cam(normal lens) and take a few pics of an item approx 2 meters away with a background containing some features and take a shot in AV mode starting with the widest aperture taking a picture as I go through each aperture until the smallest aperture is reached.
I was asked to submit a description of what changes there were in the photos.
A: I dont reallly see any differences in the photos , could this be right?
2. I was asked to take a scene with good tonal values (shadows and hightlights and using a normal lens with an aperture of about f/8 and in AV mode set my camera to its lowest ISO and take a photo going through each ISO all the way to 1600 then examine each photo at about 300x Zoom and state what i see.
A: The image got lighter and more clear as the iso got highter but there was much more noise at high iso's. (Is that correct?)
3. Exactly the same as above but this time with a darker subject.
A. This one should have a bit more noise at high ISOs because of the darkness. Am i heading in the right direction here?
Thanks guys I am definately falling under Newbie for photography and have a lot to learn and I believe I will get there with little guidance.
Thanks in advance
Darren
