Hi all I have come accross this setup for sale but the only information I have is as follows:-

Canon SLR
Tamron 28-200mm
Canon 28-80mm - which I assume would have been the standard lens that came with the camera.
Jessops 320 AFC flash

I have messaged the seller for further details but thought I would throw it to you guys too just to see if you can shed any further light on the lenses, camera etc.

Cheers Carol

Hi,

From the picture it looks like an Eos50 possibly (without eye control as there is no dial to enable it in front of the main control dial). The 28-80 was the standard kit lens as far as I know so would be a general walkabout. The zoom again looks like a standard offering. I'm not sure what price you've seen it for but I'd say it would normally be £20-£30 because there's not a massive demand for them.

Cheers

Both camera and lens seem a touch over exposed. I wouldn't shed any more light on them if I were you :naughty:

Before you decide, just think about other AF cameras as e.g. the Nikon F90x is very good and goes for peanuts..but the problem is the lenses are more expensive so it would have to be a similar all in deal like your one.

Actually, I've just checked the manual for the EOS50 and it doesn't have a separate eye control dial like I have on my EOS30e. Looks like the eye control is set using the standard focus point selection button on the back and turning the front control wheel until it's selected.

Unfortunately, from that picture I can't tell if it's eye control or not. The text is written on the front bottom-right.

Cheers

Pretty much this... To consider it's resale value after you've tried it - any real value is in the 28-80 canon lens, which will work with the modern digital stuff and make around £25 for a decent example. The Tamron "might" also work with digital, but lots of the reverse engineered stuff worked ok on film and failed dismally with digi (they'd mount ok, but sometimes AF didn't, and often there was no control over aperture/Stopping down for metering etc) , so erring on the safe side I'd consider it tied to the body. Flash - well, again if it works with the body, keep it with the body. I'd say around £40 tops for the whole package if you get a guarantee that it all works and that the 28-80 is in good condition.

bit of info on the body here - http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/...995_eos55.html?lang=eu&categ=srs&page=eos&p=1

ive got that tamron in a mount, or a similar one, and its ok, shots seem abit bleh with it on my a77 but ive not used it much, sharp tho which surprised me.
might work well with contrasty lomo film

Thanks guys, I think after all your comments it is not worth it he wants £90 for everything and going by what you have all said I would be better putting my money elsewhere.

Cheers for your help on this one guys.

Leave an offer and phone number or ask the seller to let you know if it ends up on ebay. Personally I think £50 would have been a fair price if you can establish it all works.
