A little help please

Hi

I've just started out doing club, birthday and event photography, im loving my results and getting great feedback but there is lots more i still need to learn..... one thing in particular is getting this effect throughout my photos... i just love the sharpness and clarity as well as the mood in the photos. Im sure there all done with minor editing in lightroom/photoshop but i can't seem to get there!! so im thinking im doing something wrong with my equipment or camera settings

Without seeing what we are comparing the photos in the link to its hard to tell you how to improve.

However my observations on the photos in the link is that the main subjects fill the frame and the backgrounds tend to be slightly out of focus suggesting the aperture setting was probably in the f1.8 to f3.5 range.

You need to post some of your photos, without knowing where you are now, there's no point suggesting where you might want to get to.

There is some very specific processing being done to those samples, but without getting the right starting point in-camera you won't replicate them.

As your request is so vague let me make an analogy ~ you have shown us a cake you saw in a bakers shop window and now want to bake the exact same or similar type/style of cake...............but asking others for advice based on the finished product is impossible to give/offer advice because we know nothing of your skill as a baker and can only offer general advice on matching the product as some of the ingredients will be private to the original baker.

So as requested do post some of your work for constructive C&C of your cameracraft & processing and then others can chip in to help Oh, looking at the images you linked to they have a touch of what I think I seen called grunge processing.........but not entirely 'that look'.

PS When you post your images please make sure to include the EXIF information.
