A levels

I think its widely accepted that Leeds Met isnt one of the best but Leeds Carnegie is specifically the sports arm of the Uni and recently started to operate as a totally seperate entity with regards learning and Carnegie is up there with the best in the country for its sports related studies which is what my lad is doing and why i said he wanted to go to Leeds Carnegie and not Leeds Met, he is studying sports coaching and Leeds Carnegie is the top place in the country for this, its home to the GB Coaching centre

Uni is a waste of time - you spend 8 years getting a degree, msc and a PhD only to work in a supermarket lol

When my daughter was looking at universities the thing that struck me was just what a big business it is

Crazy prices to live in what amounted to a cell, also a lot of uni's were outside of the town/city so they had a captive audience (bit like Pontins used to do with their holiday camps)

Shame for youngsters today that you need a degree for almost any half decent job, upped the stakes from the five O levels you needed when I left school many moons ago

To enter in the debate above I seem to remember when we looked at Bath it seemed very sports orientated with excellent facilities

Bath Uni is quite a large wide subject uni. The sports facilities and the sport faculty are top notch and the Team Bath manages to cover a really professional group of leaders which attracts a lot of external research and practice funding.

The city has become a student centric area with a lot of new student accomodation being built and conversions underway.

Good uni but difficult to get into.

My son tried but ended up at Worcester Uni.

Nice place although the road in from the M4 could be better, absolute chaos when we went for the uni open day

My daughter did get an offer from Bath along with LSE and York, but ended up changing her mind completely, stayed at home and did an optometry degree instead of maths and statistics.

No right or wrong with living away, depends on the person and what they feel comfortable with, main aim is to pass the course and procure a job afterwards

The road off the M4 is a nightmare, especially the sinhle lane when you cross over the A420. I generally hang a right and dog-leg past the racecourse and down through Weston and back to the Upper Brist Rd as it avoids the A4 London Road into the City.

I am smiling as my son hummed and iterated choices between Chemisty and Sport Science.... Did Sport Coaching and Management indtead.
