My (work) camera body required repair and I packaged it up identifying the parts included and shipped it to the Nikon Repair Centre.
All work completed under warranty and returned... expect no battery (here in lies the lesson that I really should not have sent the battery)
Anyway a quick call to the repair centre and I was promised a replacememt battery would be dispatched.
On receving the battery last night I knew it was not the original (heavily scratched case and I had marked mine to keep track if it). I was of course imeadately a bit cheesed off that a substitute had been sent but I guess I expected that. However on placing the battery in the camera body it showed as a '2' on the battery life meter !!! So now I had been sent an inferior battery. Did someone think I wouldn't check.
I have expressed my dissatisfaction to the service centre and I have been promised another battery will be sent out.
In Hindsight I need not have sent the battery so please everyone learn from my mistake and only send the essentials to a repair centre, to reduce the risk that items are not returned.
