A late starting 365 :-(

I just ordered a flash for my 5D2 yesterday, not had a proper flash before (ooer), so I'm prepared for a whole new lot of learning :)

Oh no, you've got JD talking about flash again!
His advice is sound though, you can get a SB-600 trigger in other ways and if you do upgrade your body to a 90/300/700 then your flash will already be CLS compatible...

Well if you can get it at such a good price that you lose nothing if you decide to sell it, then it's basically free so a no brainer...

Any optical trigger or hotshoe adapter will also be compatible with your next camera aswell.

99. Crazy sky! It was stormy and the sun was shining into the middle of it all just as it set. It was about 21:30 so really quite late. This is barely processed.

100. What a better way to make it into 3 figures. The next bump shot.

101. I bought some flowers today for Tanja - and since they are so pretty...

102. Out again in the river this morning and I thought I would try a self portrait again.

I am out again with the boys this afternoon so there might be another shot later.

Love the river shadow shot, but in my view it would be even better if you cropped out the bottom part of what I assume is your legs.

shadows shots are really fun to do. I'm going to re-do my early 365 shadow shot 'Charlies Angels Style' :)

The shdow looks good against the pebbles and water, kind of impressionist :)

103. Out at the river again but in a attempt to do something different I took this one of the stones and then B&W. Actually this was a mistake whilst setting up the camera for Tanja to take some shots of me diving into the water. But as she seems to be a better photographer than me I shall not be advertising for her here anymore :)

104. I was in Munich again and stuck in the hotel yesterday evening in the pouring rain there was not much to shoot - so a self portrait in the make up mirror in the bathroom.

105. Filler shot - the "view" from the hotel window, with an attempt to make it a bit more interesting. I had all sorts of big plans for the train journey home but then I left the camera turned on in my bag and the battery ran flat.

106. I bought myself a close up lens yesterday and had a bit of a play this evening. I haven't got the time to spend ages on it as I have work to do but it seems good but the DOF is SHORT!!!

I was gonna ask the same thing!

Nice bump shot and love the weird sky one too!

Thanks - the thing is the empty larvae case of a mayfly - it has "hatched" if that is the right word and the split down the back is where the fly emerged from. I discovered it with the boys down at the river a while ago.

104. Playing with the new toy again today - Tanja has been knitting toys for various new arrivals in the family and this is one of them (or at least the eye). She asked me to take some photos of it for her knitting web page () - not sure this was exactly what she had in mind.

The new lens is one of these... if anyone is interested
HAMA Close-up lens

Like the tilt/shift pic.
I've been waiting ages to get high up and have a proper go at it.

At the moment I seem to be struggling to find the time to PP the shots that I take. Life is rather busy and hectic at the moment. :(

105. Another bump update. Less than 2 months to go now - but as it is number 3 we don't really seem to have started the preparations yet.

106. The eye - playing about with the close up lens - yes you can get close.

107. A quick shot of Benny on the trampoline - we had friends to stay so not so much time to take photos.

I think you can be forgiven for not PP'ing anything Nic, You have 2 boys and a pregnant wife. I'd have given up a 365 long ago if I was in your position.

I love the reflection in the eye. :D

109. On my way home from the pub on my bike last night - the thing that I am proudest of is that I managed to hold the camera still enough to get the shot without a flash whilst riding one handed.

Tongue poker, PMSL.
I like it when people try to lick their forehead while doing something complex

110. For various reasons I started taking a series of shots of this small bottle of kirsch liquor but never got to finish it. Here is one - a WIP.

111. And then a snap taken with my phone of a slow worm (at least that is what I think it was but the colouring is a bit odd) that I saw when out cycling this morning.

112. Not too much time for photos yesterday and here we are - a stunning effort of a portrait of Tanja :D

3665212793_01d24615fa.jpg

113. And today back to the beach in pretty grotty weather with the boys - too much water for dam building today so just throwing some stones and this HDR´d effort of a self portrait of me. "Oh ***** - just thrown the remote control instead of the stone"

114. Aliens landed in the garden today!

Actually a purple kohlrabi that we harvested this morning. I am not happy that the cloth I was using as a background let the light through on the second one. I can't go back and repeat the shots as the alien is no more ;)
