A late starting 365 :-(

45. Inspired by JD: this is what we spent the day doing today! I was going to post something different but today was really lazy spent in the garden in the sun. This is Tanja eating a biscuit - clearly I was trying to get her in focus but the autofocus had other ideas :D

Some really nice pics there, like 40 (great action shot) & 41 (works really well in B&W). For a split second it looked like she was trying to put the biscuit up her nose

Thanks! Its funny we were talking about chocolate hobnobs being addictive - but snorting them might be going a bit far

I think it works better with the off focus face.

Thanks, me too now.

46. I was out walking with the boys and we wandered down this little path near my parents house. Alongside trying some cloud photos I have been trying to get some landscapes as well (45 as well) and this is one of the better ones. For some reason I don´t feel that confident about the results most of the time. These are two of the better ones.

47. carrying on from above. Tanja and I were off for a short break to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary, we were in north wales and went for a walk.

48. I like the effect of stitching several photos together to make one - like having a really wide angle lens (kind of)

49. I discovered that with the remote on the D40 you don´t have to hold the shutter down on the BULB setting :D

not a good photo but the test to see if it works and what do you know... Now I need to work on better subjects.

50. Not a good one to bring up the half century but at least I am here (a scrubby edge through third man for those who like cricket) the view from my Balcony - the light was lovely the sunset shining through under the clouds.

Right then - back from the holiday now I will try and concentrate on this 365 bit more. I haven´t actually missed a day yet (though there have been some close calls in the past couple of days) but I do feel that I am not really trying as hard as I might...

Good sense of speed in day 40's shot

I really should go down to the Velodrome in Manchester as i only live 15mins away :)

51. Pretty much a fail today, I was hoping to take some long exposure shots of the mountains this evening and then the weather closed in and all I got was long exposure shots of rainy windows: :bang:

One of the things that fascinates me about this shot (and I have taken a few before) is that the lights that all appear similar to the naked eye really show up differently with the longer exposure.

52. I had taken some other shots on the way to work but then this evening we had a thunderstorm and I thought I might try and get some shots of the lightening. Unfortunately the real forks were some way off but I got some quite interesting ones none the less. The purple colours in the sky are nice I think. We get a lot of storms here so I will try and catch some better ones later in the year.

54. Back from work early today so I went out for a wander on the bike before supper and took loads of photos including this one of the water at the bottom of a waterfall which I shall be swimming under later this year. :)
Taken at some risk to life and camera..

Good shots Nic - love 47

I like the iguana picture; nice detail

Thanks, today's will be a bit late - like tomorrow. I have been looking after the boys all days as Tanja is out at a hens do so I am now taking it easy. There are photos on the camera of course but I am headed for a night in front of the TV tonight.

56. so here is the late one for yesterday, a shot from the balcony of a friends flat - nature in the city.

57. Today we went to watch the friend play lacrosse - a brutal game if ever I saw one. I have never shot any sports before so it was a bit of a challenge but there are some good ones I think. This is one of the best, it needs a title like - "look out behind you..."

Like the nature in the city, great contrast.

Don't know anything about lacrosse, sure it is brutal, guy behind No.7 looks like he's just been hit in his private parts :$

58. Time for another one of the growing bump.

Week 24 (ish) we don´t seem to be paying as much attention with number 3 as we did with one and two. Well anyway that doesn´t seem to be bothering the little man (according to the doc 3 will be a boy like the others) who seems to be growing away pretty fast.

Congratulations on No.3, I'm happy with our 2 little girls can't imagine having another. Gonna have your hands full with 3 ;)

60. My first professional commission ;) The marketing guys at work needed some photos of the warehouse for a press release and guess who had a camera handy and volunteered :)

Not as exciting as it sounds (nor as professional actually) but publication never the less.

Nice work, would like to see some of you other shots too if possible

I have loaded some of the others up to my Flickr site below. I am not that happy with them to be honest, some of the more detail ones seem to be OK but the more general ones are lacking a point of focus. I will take some more again tomorrow (I work at the warehouse site most days) and will get one of the forklift drivers to take me up high for some different perspectives as well...

61. Time to spend a little more time to take a photo, a while ago I found a piece of wood on the side of the river and photographed it out there. I said at the time I would have another go and here we are. I was going to put it on a plain background but I rather like the look of the cushion I found...

No trip in the forklift today - no time. Tomorrow morning though...

Interesting piece of drift wood, looks like it's been carved or has hieroglyphics on it :)
