Earlier this year I was asked to cover a series of major equine events throughout August on behalf of the British Equestrian Federation and because of other commitments and the distances involved for some of the events I was unable to attend them all. MooMike and Dod very kindly stepped up to the plate with Mike covering the events in the North and West and Dod doing the Aberdeen one.
It's been quite a month with every location being very challenging due to the poor lighting at all the indoors arenas which wasn't helped by the inclement weather - usually in August you expect a few good days but it wasn't to be. The shoots have been very long often starting at 7am and not finishing until 6pm as was seen in my other thread about documenting a day at one of these. I should think between us we've taken somewhere in the region of 15-20,000 images - I've got just under 4,500 just from the finals yesterday which Mike helped out on and unfortunately he copped the arena with the crap lighting - again! Sorry Mike!
With all the potential pitfalls we only had one complaint which started thus:
I purchased two prints from the event which arrived today and I'm disgusted that I have paid for two photographs that took over a week to arrive and all I have received is exactley that, two photographs.
Erm, as you can imagine I was wondering where this was going. I won't bore you with the details but it was very silly!
Anyway the point of this was to publicly acknowledge their hard work, commitment and professionalism all of which was commented on by BEF officials and competitors alike. Thanks guys and thanks to TP otherwise I'd have been struggling.
