Yes
my mrs just took ,what she thought was a call from a customer. twenty mins on the phone .
"hello . what dates have you got free fro a portrait session before christmas?"
he then moved onto SWPP membership , and from there to signing up for a search engine .at this point my mrs got peed off and told him where to go. sadly she didnt get the company name , or i,d ring up and complain.
w*****s.:bang:

It's very easy to get a phone company to block incoming with held calls. A message simply tells the caller you do not accept calls from with held numbers, it worked for me.
If someone is misrepresenting who they are it's not exactly instilling faith in whatever they have to sell is it? Does sales require a pre-requisite to be brain-dead?:D

I work in sales, I'm not brain dead ;)

I don't rely on underhanded tactics to sell either.. I'm straight with my customers, and it works in my favour :D

I initially thought this thread was about someone selling holes!!!:bonk:

I think I had the same bunch on the phone the other week, trying to remember who they were now but my mind's a blank (as usual) :(

Tell her not to hang up next time ... Just put the earpiece down by the phone. :D

The line stays connected and they cannot dial out for the next call. They also continue paying for the call.

I like to make them listen to some music or tv before i hang up after an hour or so .... :D

i,d quite happily provide this type of salesman with a hole. right in the middle of the forehead.

Yes and errr No, it will work on some calls but its over ridden by a system that says "this network is unable to broadcast its number" that stopped me paying for calls to be blocked. What I think the best idea is to do is to do is to just be a bit more frank in your dealing with these people. A friendly **** off goes a long way. Regards Jim
